It’s biblical, so I suppose it gets back to the fundamental difference between Adam and God. Whose word do you go by, God’s or Adam’s, but is that really a crime now in America to choose to adhere to God’s words on the matter, and if so, is this actually America anymore we’re discussing, or some other entity that commands our allegiance?

10 For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: If anyone will not work, neither shall he eat.
ou thelo (greek) means more than "unwilling to". Thelo means wanting to or desire to and carries in it the meaning of ready and willing to. So, the focus of the command is against those who refuse to work rather than those who are unable to do so.
