Friend,
Thank you letters should be a joyful expression of gratitude that connects you with another in a way that a spoken or typed word never can. They should not be used only for physical gifts like birthday or wedding gifts. Whenever a person enters my mind and I gave thanks to God for him or her, I immediately go to my writing desk to write a letter of thanks to the person.
I cannot recall the last day I did not write a thank you letter to someone. Most days I write several. Today I wrote a thank you card to a friend I have not see in many years simply because a picture of him eating at Uncle’s 2013 lobster steam fell out of a photo album I was moving.
Expressions of gratitude, especially in written form, are good for the writer and the recipient. So many problems would be fixed and chasms overcome if we became more grateful and showed it through action each day.
Yours,
TulaneLSU
