I assume he’s sitting out until told otherwise

I don't think it makes much sense for him to play a bowl game. He's not practicing as far as we know and I'd like to see what Nuss can do with weeks of 1st team practice under his belt. However, I would love to see him take the field for a couple of drives. Would be an awesome way to end his college career with a touchdown to Malik.

I am, but even if he does happen to play, I don't expect it's for more than 1 or 2 drives. I fully expect an announcement that he won't play at some point though.

This. We should know shortly if he's playing based on practice.

I can assure you that regardless of what his decision is, his coaches already know. Just because we don't know, doesn't mean thry don't.

I think it’s actually just the opposite. I think you can safely assume that he’s not playing. Put yourself in his shoes. If it were a playoff game, absolutely he would be playing obviously. But it’s a meaningless bowl game. He can’t do anything to raise his draft in this one game, he just won the Heisman. The only thing that can happen for him in this game is some sort of injury.

Nobody said this 8 years ago. Now all the dumb heads parrot it because it makes them feel enlightened.

The season isn’t over.

Jayden Daniels’ team mates kept playing their hardest for him in the last three games of the season so that he could win the Heisman. They could have quit.

Or maybe some people play football because they love the competition.

sorry, but the majority of bowl games are indeed meaningless.

Years ago, when only 25-30 teams made a bowl game, and before opt-outs, the bowls did mean something. It was an honor to get a bowl invitiation.

Now, there are 40+ bowl games, so most are garbage. The playoffs and a few major bowls (Rose, Sugar, Fiesta, Orange, Peach, Cotton) are still pretigious. The rest aren't.

I am assuming he is not until told otherwise.

The only real meaning behind the bowl games these days are the extra practices.

What competition? Half the Wisconsin roster is transferring or opting out. Ever think maybe Jayden also wants Nuss to get some experience as they're friends?

Well that’s BS because I’ve been saying it longer than that. There are too many bowl games now. Every year we end up with barely enough eligible teams.

From 1970 to 2001, no team with a losing record made a bowl. Since 2015, 7 teams have gone to a bowl after only winning 5 games.
