Sort of wished that I had addressed this a while ago since my son has taken over my account and has 4k hours into Destiny 2, can't exactly take that away from him.

Yeah, just make a new account and game share with him. That way, whatever games you own on one account, you'll own on the other. Save yourself a lot of money.
