Hate to saying this, but you either want to be a part of the team or not. Heard has shown his colors, and he’s more concerned with his personal gain than being a part of a championship program. Better off giving money to somebody who wants to be a Tiger.

Know what NFL teams covet? Flexibility and versatility

And this is what short sighted players fail to recognize, you need to develop into multiple roles to make yourself valuable to NFL FO. Being a prima Donna usually shuns teams from picking you. Also, as we have seen at LSU, you can have all the talent of the world be if you don't produce at a consistent level you're going to take a back seat.

They compete as much as every shitty generation before them. No, they just want to play and not get buried on a depth chart as a player who could start for most teams. You want to have a logical reason to complain, then demand that scholarships given out be guaranteed for more than 1 year. Then you MIGHT have an argument. Until then, the school isn’t promising more than a year to these players, they should have the same right.

Kids do not know what they need. They haven’t lived enough and they are as dumb and entitled as ever. This isn’t about some technicality or tit for tat. It’s about what is truly best for these young people. The same as “every shitty generation before”???
That is a stupid thing to say. You must be a kid.

Ole Miss is all over him. Offering him chance to start for national championship contender next year and giving him a nice raise.

If these players want to be paid as professionals, then coaches need to air out the dirty on em.

All these peeps going after Heard
Put yourself in his shoes
You are currently getting this $$$ amount

And other teams are offering 4-5 times more
If you are his PARENTS are you then telling him to stay…….
No way
He’s evaluating to see what LSU can come up with and as long as the tigers can get close he’ll stay…..

This is the world we live in
And if he was your kid, money in the future is NEVER promised…. Money now is!!!

I’m a little split on it. I see the team side, but when your family is not well off and you are offered life changing money and a starting position..it’s something that must be weighed. Would you accept half the salary to work for a close friend or family member, when you can get double the money and a better job immediately elsewhere? There’s definitely an argument he will be drafted higher if he stays at LSU so I’m sure the long term money is part of LSU’s argument, along with elite development.

If only the NCAA had any forethought to enable a nil and transfer system with a salary cap, rules, strict punishment for tampering. Instead it’s a free for all that professional football doesn’t even have.

Exactly. The NCAA knew that this was upcoming in the years leading up to the court ruling in favor of the players, and seemingly took no steps to prevent the cluster frick we see now.

While the best coaches will adapt to whatever conditions are put before them, when you have Brian Kelly and Nick Saban both asking congress to intervene, you know the problem has mushroomed so far out of control that there's nothing the NCAA cam do now, even if they were so inclined.

Agree! All these people running their mouth bashing the kid. None of us are in the room to know the facts. I think he has an offer of more money at to play somewhere else. Kiffin and Ole Piss are a likely candidate. The money guys at Ole Miss seem to be stepping up to the big boy table.

Most of us would consider a job offer that pays more money, yet we bash a kid for it. We make up shite stating he is afraid of competition. This kid followed Campbell from the same high school. I don't think he is afraid of competition. I hope we find a way to keep him!

I don't care for him not playing in the bowl game, but we don't know the details. Maybe he verbally agreed to the other school and was packing his bags of money when coach Kelly stepped in and talked him into waiting to decide.

It’s tempering, which is supposed to not happen. NCAA sucks dog shite. Yet we let Wade go out of fear from those bums.

They have no power to do this. It has to be the conferences and schools. If ncaa does this, they would just get sued til no tomorrow.

They could have bent when the first lawsuit happened a decade ago and slowly implemented these policies as NCAA rules. Instead, they dug in and let the courts completely frick everything up by throwing the doors open with no possibility of restrictions or balance.

By all means, take more money and go help your family if money is the issue.
No one should fault anyone for making a decision to help their family.

From the outside looking in it does seem like a lot of these ‘money grab’ transfers bread from NIL are influenced from outside sources in a tampering way.

This generation of kids also doesn’t play the long game. It’s about instant gratification and getting it while you can.

Also something to remember, just a few years ago Before NIL he would’ve been playing for hundred dollar handshakes and a free education.
