It really isn’t. No kid is going to determine where they go based on any bowl game that isn’t playoffs. If anything it’s going to showcase where a kid is needed with this being a winter version of a spring game.

I categorically disagree. You might get average Joes who don't care whether they are well-coached. But I promise you, the best football players care about playing on a coached-up team. I would think twice about playing defense for the LSU staff that coached defense this fall if I were an elite player looking to go pro.

You have to be stone cold blind not to see that the defensive coaching this season was a massive failure.

There are very likely quite a dominos that can render the future bright vs. muddy. Improvements as noted plus continued accolades to Sloan in developing top QBs seems especially important with recruiting decisions anticipated in the following week.

It is not a worthless game.
