re: I'm surprised to not see any arrests of people trying to produce cocaine in the US.

It can be extracted other ways without all the chemicals they use in the jungle. 20 years from now, stuff that was deemed illegal will probably be legal lol. They are already using Ketamine and ecstasy in medical settings for patients with depression

Currently, I think the only company in the US that can buy coca leaves is the Stepan Company, and they sell the leaves to Coca-Cola.
The basic process to produce coke is to chop up the coca leaves, spread some cement powder on them, splash some sulfuric acid mixed with water on the leaves, marinate the leaves in gasoline, filter out the leaves, use battery acid to separate the watery coke substance from the gasoline, add baking soda, strain and boil out the water, spread the coke paste out to dry, break up the coke paste into a powder.
I got lost here quickly as I thought "coke" referred to the drink and I'm thinking "battery acid and gasoline? This doesn't soung right".

There should have been no confusion since coke was not capitalized.

I'm not trying to be Pablo Escobar and be one of the richest men in the world. I'm just looking to have a nice living.

Nothing could go wrong during that process.

Much easier to make money, and more money at that, legally and just by the coke for recreational use than trying to make it yourself.

Mariana Van Zeller
I've seen a couple of episodes of "Trafficked".
Some of the stories she portrays in them are so bogus that it's comical.
I'm not sure if she believes all the dumb shite she so over dramatically presents or if she just thinks that the masses are dumb enough to believe it.

Looks simple enough to me. I was sorta looking for something to do this weekend. What the hell could go wrong?

That is the Columbia/MX slums way to make it. I would imagine you could use different components besides gasoline and the others to make an equally good or better product.

I am currently in the process of using CRISPR to insert the genes from the coca plant into Bermudagrass. Once I resod my lawn with it, I will collect the clippings for processing. The FBI will never know because I’m not telling anyone.

The first description of the use of cocaine by humans can be found in the memoirs of the Florentine traveller Amerigo Vespucci (1451-1512)
quote:
In 1860 Albert Niemann (1834-1861) isolated an active ingredient of coca leaves, which he named cocaine. After his death, his work was carried on by his disciple Wilhelm Lossen (1838-1906), who finally, in 1865, determined its proper chemical formula.
Basically they used processes already in use to make other medicine. Use solvents to turn it into hydrochloride.
