The argument for keeping Dennis Allen

Not looking for someone to actually make a case for keeping him because any non retard knows he's a loser and should be out
But what will the Saints brass spin be on keeping him ?
“If not for a few key injuries, we would have made the playoffs “
“The start wasn’t great this year, but they really turned a corner those last few weeks, even dominating the NFC South Champs. We look forward to seeing what Carr and this offense can do in year 2 after a full offseason together.”

Who said this Allen?
If so, this typical narcissistic and delusional nature to ignore the issues is why he’s a terrible head coach

He’ll try to spin the saints as the Detroit lions of last year.
Allen will be fired mid way through the season next year

They already put out the spin this morning. Carr was injured for a good bit of the season, they will solve the few cultural issues and upgrade some roster spots. We won 4 of the last 5 and look forward to taking that momentum into the offseason.
It’s all bullshite. We went one game over .500 with the best QB in the division I with the easiest schedule in history.
My prediction is that we go 2-9 to start next year.

We are in cap hell and have the oldest roster in the NFL. We don’t have a good franchise QB. Carr is average at best.
Sean Payton saw this mess coming it’s why he jumped ship while his stock was good. He didn’t want to end up like Belicheck post Brady.
I don’t think we could get a better coach until we fix the roster which needs a complete rebuild. Loomis needs to go first, then cut or trade a bunch of players and start the rebuild. What’s sad is we don’t have a great draft position this year.
We are in neither heaven nor hell, just floating in purgatory wondering what to do.

Because we’re not in a great cap situation with an aging roster. Tank commander.

Sean would have had us in the playoffs the last 2 years though.

9-8.
Technically a winning season and technically an improvement on last year. No matter it didn’t pass the eyeball test.

I can tell you he’s staying, Carmichael is going…..
It’s disappointing….the schedule next year is much more difficult

Go back in time and listen to what Loomis said when Hasslet and the Saints bately missed the playoffs with if I remember right a 8-8 or 7-9 record. "We finished strong and had a chance to make the playoff but just came up short" With the way the team played the Saints need to keep coach Hasslet and the momentum going into the 2005 season. I beleive that how remember Loomis justifying keeping Hasslet one more year. The 2005 season began with Hurricane Katrina and Hasslet was fired Shortly after the season 2095 ended.

The Tampa Bay game last year.
Led 16-3 with 5 minutes to go and didn't punt the ball near midfield.
The Green Bay game this year.
Led 17-0 with 11 minutes left and had the ball.
That's winning the division both years right there.
Minneapolis miracle.
How much do you have to endure from this buffoon?

They'll say the offense looked much better down the stretch, which is true as long as you pretend we weren't playing shitty teams and ignore the fact that the Rams looked like a team from a different, much better, league. And that Dennis finally has his first winning season and "has figured it out."

We had virtually a tie for the easiest schedule this year.
If that doesn't scare you, then nothing will. Team should have won 12 games, minimum.
Dude is in over his head, and it really showed at the end of the game today with the team not carrying out his order for victory formation.

Say whatever you want but when the players just ignore the HC, it's over and he's gotta go. Dudes lost the locker room and he's not getting back.

You don't keep him after that comment

There is no argument for keeping him. He sucks as a head coach. He’s sucked at two different locations. Some people are made to be head coaches. Some are not.

There is no valid argument for keeping him anymore.
2 straight seasons missing the playoffs. Yes, he technically improved this year, finishing with a winning record; that's negated by losing every pivotal game they played this year. All season long, the Saints were in position to seize control of the NFC South, and each time they stumbled.
He's supposed to be a defensive guru (so they say), but defensive collapses cost this team several times.
Most importantly, he's completely lost the team's respect. At a point where the team still has hopes of making the playoffs (having done their part in winning today), the team gets a late interception and the ball on the 1 yd line. He states in the press conference that the players asked if they could get a score, and he said NO.
Team lines up in victory formation... and runs for a TD anyway. The backup QB ignores his call, and calls his own play. The first year RB who has not produced all year runs it in. The senior defensive end makes social media remarks that they should have gone for 2.
And instead of handling this inhouse, Allen airs it in the postgame conference.
That is simply NOT a leader, and no way you can salvage things going forward.

I think it’s great to bring back a coach that just told everyone his team gave him a giant frick you. Great idea

It really is going to be amazing to watch people spin all of this moving forward.

It’s always been obvious the locker room doesn’t respect him but good God today they formally announced it to the world.
You can cut the guys responsible for it…but that isn’t the problem
