Kill Tony Episodes Discussion: 10/28/24 - Dr. Phil & Harland Williams

Use this thread for episode discussion.
For those that aren't familiar, Kill Tony is a weekly live show recorded at The Comedy Mothership in Austin, TX. Episodes air every Monday on YouTube at 8pm. During the show Tony Hinchcliffe and co-host Brian Redban, along with a changing panel of comedians and other celebrities, interview amateur comedians after they perform a 1 minute set. To get selected to perform, comedians enter their names into a bucket and are selected at random throughout the show. There are also usually 3 "regulars" that do 1 minute sets every week.
Kill Tony is one of the best comedy shows out today. Tony's quick wit is perfect for format of the show. If you are a fan of comedy and / or stand up and haven't seen this, do yourself a favor and watch a couple episodes.

Yes, I love it when people bomb!

This is as good a place as any to admit that I have, "I got a sweet little dog, yesterday, yesss-ter-daaaay" stuck in my head pretty much all the time. It was a catchy little jingle.

I think they should let Heath Cordes go first for a few shows and see how he does. He has lots of potential.

I don't know how I feel about him. Feels like the source of his humor is his physical appearance and it's incongruence with what comes out of his mouth, and that will wear then pretty quick.
Brad Williams is a dwarf and he uses it in his act, but that's not his whole act and he could probably pull off an hour special and never mention dwarfism.

He just doesn't have much time. He's said himself in an interview that the minute he did first was his best stuff and he's working to come up with more. He's only been at it for a couple years, if that, and half of that was in Cullman, Alabama (not far from me).
He's good, and will get better. The golden ticket is best for him, but a regular spot would probably hurt him right now.

his delta pen joke was fantastic

Fair points. I've just loved every set Heath has done.
I'm glad the Ric Diaz thing is done. He seems like a 1 trick pony and I thought that giving him a golden ticket after his first set was a bit premature.

Cam Patterson is starting to repeat some of his stuff. Even Tony has called him out on it, claiming that it seems he’s worked on it a little. I couldn’t tell the difference. It just sounded lazy to do the same bit again.
Even though I think Cam has done it twice, I might be thinking of one of the other regulars

Also, Ahren Belisle’s dad was a great interview

All the repeat sets that are showing up for Kam was when they were doing 2-4 shows a week in December. He likely just did the same set for shows that were literally back to back on certain nights. I'd expect the repeat jokes to end soon since they are finally getting to the NYE shows tonight.

We need more Casey Rocket. I know he’s good in small doses but I have seen more of him on WM podcast and stuff he puts out and he’s growing on me.
I would much rather see golden ticket winner Martin Phillips every week than Hans or Kam.
Also all hail to Redban, he is a gem.

*spoiler alert*
I can’t wait to see Redban propose to Janice on the NYE show
I wonder if any TD members went to those shows

How much do you think Tony hates Redban, outside of the show? Their dynamic is great for the show, but it feels like Tony absolutely loathes Redban.

how hard is it to get tickets to this show?
I want to go do Kill Tony and then the Mother Ship (Rogans club). It's amazing the talent that just shows up during the week during Joe and Friends
His pod today said Tuesday and Wednesday they had Ron White, Bert Kreischer, Tom Segura doing standup.

VERY hard to buy them if you don't catch them when tickets are released. Follow Kill Tony and Comedy Mothership on instagram. They release tickets for about 6 months worth of shows at a time. Currently, they have only sold tickets for shows through March, so I'd expect them to open up the next 6 months sometime in February. It isn't too hard to get tickets at that point.
They have a standby line that you can wait in, and they allocate tickets to it based on no shows. There are some for every show. But you will need to get there early...probably at least two hours before doors open. KT is one of the most popular shows there and the line forms earlier than almost any other show.
If you want to see someone else, just follow comedy mothership on instagram. They will post and release tickets at that moment, so you have to be quick.
