It seems like they are admitting that they don’t know what to do and need our help after shrinking a major E/W artery and wasting tax dollars.
This is actually LADOTD.
The road project was a state project. The city of Baton Rouge will take over maintenance after it's fully constructed.
City of Baton Rouge has been complaining about issues with construction and landscaping. And I'm sure they also don't want to pay to totally rework what the state screwed up.
And frankly even if the state didn't screw it up, the city doesn't want to spend the money anyways. You've seen how our local streets look. They aren't much better than our neglected state routes.

The fundamental flaw in this whole thing, IMHO, is that there is no easy way into North Blvd, their preferred east-west thoroughfare, from most directions.
If they had cut that through to Rebel Drive when the property opened up, that would have worked. But putting BRCC right there made traffic worse by adding more cars and cutting down ways to go west that don’t involve Government.

Yes, but the project details were pushed by the locals and the parish initially put up 4.2 million dollars, the Feds put up 5.4 in safety funds and 1 million in ADA funds. The state only put up 1.1 million dollars.
It was pushed as a big safety project and an economic aid to the area.

It was BRAF. Those losers push this BS then run away the minute it blows up.
They are still pushing the BR - NOLA train that no one will ride. Anyone remember the “Garden District Trolley”? What a joke.

This is BS. The project was part of a road transfer and the city wanted the road diet. Because of the transfer the state paid for the project as part of the city accepting the road. The consultant that sold this to everyone is the same who did the study for the Audubon Bridge saying it would have 35,000 vehicles per day when it opened.

Wrong, The city requested the changes and the road diet in order to take the road over.
