Apple Or Android? May The Battle Continue.

So, it's said that as humans we are creatures of habit. It's in our nature to fight against change lol, because we love hanging on to our security blankets. Now that being said these two are always intivating and changing how we see things. I personally will always choose team android for several reasons but that's just because lol Apple is a cult. Jk ..I just feel like Apple can't compete with the Google play store for one. Anyway I'm team Android.. or Samsung. What says you?

Was on Android since its inception until the S22 Ultra wife talked me into trying Apple starting with the 14 Pro Max. As a hard core Android fan I can tell you they both have their advantages but the ones that Apple has isn’t enough to keep me on it, I’ll most likely go back later this year to Android or early next year when the next Ultra comes out. Apple kinda forces you to like their preferences is the best way to describe my experience. IMessage, video recording and Face unlock are the advantages for Apple, every place else they are second IMO.

Android is so ghetto.

I have an iPhone 14 for work. I try to like it but it's boring AF. It also is terrible for doing anything work related. Handling files is trash, working in excel is a pain.

Android...if you don't mind being data mined like hell by all those "free" Google apps.

Android, no question. Much easier to work with on a Windows desktop... Plus Samsung has DeX

I'm more tech savvy than the average person, but I use Apple phones. I view the phone as an appliance and not a tinker toy which is what a lot of android users want. I have Linux at home in a self-contained environment where if it blows up it doesn't matter.

If you're into tech, Android easily.
If you're over 45 or a girl, Apple is made just for you.

Android, bc it would be exhausting caring/thinking about other peoples phones as much as some iPhone users do. I can read my texts in peace not ever considering what phone the sender has and how you've been told to feel about it.
bruh, you're either pro-datamining or against it. you cant try to call out Google for datamining and then say "its ok, apple only does it a little bit". also they aren't just doing it a little bit.

They do to an extent but nothing like Google does.

Everyone hates the one dude who doesn’t have iMessage in group chats. Don’t be that guy that has to be edgy.

I was offered a free iPhone 14 pro last year from work and I turned it down. Nah I'll just keep this Pixel 5 and see where it takes me

Google's voice assistant is a lot better than siri.

I think, for the most part, it really doesn't matter.
If you take the work factor out of it, most people use a phone to call, text or surf the web (maybe a game here and there).
With that stated, either phone will do those things.

Samsung Android.
The rest of the family has iPhones and they are really annoying in a in a group text when I get the "Liked blah blah blah.." response.

the only people who choose Apple are the clueless people who never try Android. Android is 10x more user friendly. unfortunately for me, both of my work devices are Apple.

I run a community built version of AOSP that focuses on privacy.
Android is the only OS that offers that freedom. Though Linux phones are trying to get traction.

I have been Android since the beginning, but I still think 90% is just whichever one you happen to learn and integrate into your life. All I ever hear is "Apple is so intuitive" and "it just works". But anytime I'm forced to handle an iPhone, I find it so un-intuitive, that I basically stare at it blankly. I think iPhone people would say the same thing about Android.
I still think the 2 biggest things missing from Android are:
--a workable analog of AirDrop
--a messaging service that has more fulsome capability like iMessage (I think I heard iMessage was going to start integrating/allowing Android users?)
I still come across situations where an iOS user sees me do something on Android that they are amazed at -and then I find my own self amazed at how it's possible that iOS doesn't have it. Most recently, I think that was on WiFi where I used the QR code function to share the connection.
This one is minor, but still sort of WTF: iOS has a feature to turn your lock/home screen wallpaper into basically a random scroll of your photos. Android DOES NOT HAVE THIS! Is it just me, or does that seem like 2004 level feature?
I also think Google Photos is RADICALLY SUPERIOR to everything else.
Oh, and I hate how whichever way the photo/video is sent via text, it down-converts to super shitty, yet people ALWAYS blame this just on Android.

I was team Android until I worked for a company that took over our phone accounts and mandated MDM software. The android version sucked and was a battery drain and took away the ability to do custom ROMs. Switched back to iPhone and never left. I was never a fan of Samsung/Touchwiz, I liked the Nexus phones back then.
Today, if you're in the Apple ecosystem it's a no brainer. The devices just work beautifully together.

I started with iPhone - a used 3G. The gilded cage/closed ecosystem was one thing, but iTunes became the deal breaker.
My experience with Android hasn't been perfect, but far preferable to having to deal with all that goes with Apple. Having said that, if I was a Mac person (instead of PC), I would probably be all in for Apple.
But, I'm not so I'm not.
