a. I've said for a very long time that if you buy into the total ecosystem, then Apple is by far the better option.
b. Android has much better messaging than iMessage. Reliance on iMessage goes back to (a) above.

I'm fine with either. However, in messaging, I would not say Android is superior to Apple.
