I hate winning consistently in basketball.

We get it.. But he was the bargaining chip that took football off the table... I loved the guy.. And everyone does it... But not everyone is paying out of his own check book and recorded by the FBI.. while there were other investigations lingering... Yes, Kansas and Arizona were in it too... But who gives a shite about Kansas or Arizona FOOTBALL? LSU was squeezed... And did the prudent thing.

I am dumb as frick. I said that beating Michigan was a big win. I stand corrected. Will Wade had ZERO big wins this year. My bad.

He just had one of the biggest turn arounds in the ncaa this season and took a team to the dance that hasnt been there in 20 years.

If that’s average, whats above average? Better yet, what is mcmahon?

I understand this is a rant site & I understand when I come here I look for "news", not opinions, and I understand that alcohol is a great influence on many posters ...but after two years, one does get tied of listening to the same bitching by the same people who does not want to understand the big picture. It makes as much sense as bitching that Paul or Les or Nick or Ed should still be coaching or why can't Skip still be at the Box or that Shaq still has a year of eligibility left...
PLEASE GET OVER IT!

Wow I’m so impressed with Wade. This season at crackneese, he lost to Western Carolina, La Tech and Southeastern La.

But hey did beat Incarnate Word, Champion Christian, Letourneau, Texas A&M Commerce & Texas A&M Corpus Christi. The only decent win he had was against Michigan. That’s it. Let him play an SEC team this year and the get lit up. GTFOH with Will Wade. Such bullshite.
bro it’s fricking McNeese what are you blabbering about? You only can play the games on your schedule

The people on here who try to discredit Will Wade as a basketball coach are fricking retarded

The simple minded conflate getting rid of Wade with the situation that McMahon is in.

Getting rid of Wade caused major damage to the program. A lot of fans thought LSU should have just taken its medicine and move forward with Wade. If it had, he program would have been fine and probably an upper 3rd SEC program.

But it didn't. It chose to get rid of Wade which caused every player (almost) to leave the program, set recruiting back, and completely ruined the LSU basketball brand.

You mean a team with southland conference level talent wouldn’t fare well in the SEC? Get out of here with these hot takes!

While I agree it is not going to change anything, here's why your analogy is wrong. Nick left on his own. Les and Ed were fired for substandard performances....much to the fanbase's delight. Paul left on his own (or was "encouraged" to retire). Either way, the fanbase wasn't terribly upset to see him go and no one is longing for him with the new HC holding the CWS trophy in his office.

LSU fired Wade. Wade didn't choose to leave LSU. So while there was a reasonable basis as to why LSU chose to make that decision, he's probably the only HC in the last several decades of LSU sports where the administration removed a coach against the wishes of the (majority) of the fanbase

That in and of itself was frustrating. But at the time it happened there was no certainty as to what penalties LSU and Wade would receive. Ultimately each received relatively minor penalties...which allowed Wade to quickly return to coaching at a school within the state of Louisiana. And all he has done in ONE season at that school is: Lead them to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 22 years, and only the 3rd time in school history with a 30-3 record. An increase of 19 wins from the prior season. All while LSU fans are left to celebrate "playing hard", "never quitting", and hoping to sneak into the NIT.

Given that reality I understand why LSU fans aren't so easily willing to "Get over" a decision made by the administration that has tanked a program (that had struggled for 30 years to find consistent success) unnecessarily.

You do realize how hard it is to win the ncaa tourney don’t you? We were making the tourney each year under him and not would be lucky to win the southland conference

Jesus Christ... for the last time... Will Wade got rid of himself when he lied to Woodward and the NCAA had football under the gun at the same time. He was the sacrificial lamb for the betterment of the entire department.

I don't really care for McMahon. This team played some very dumb basketball this year. BUT he isn't going anywhere. Maybe if he doesn't make any improvement next year but I think it's tourney or bust in 2025. I honestly don't think Woodward is going to let in sink further and further especially with Texas coming in.
