Louisiana sucks as far as basketball talent

I get that, but that was CMM's game plan last year. Would be our best insight for what's to come next year.

Not great since our transfer strategy so far has mostly been guys from Louisiana or guys that McMahon previously coached, and the latter is running dry.

It ebbs and flows. We fielded a final four team almost exclusively from the Baton Rouge area. I would bet if you could land the top 2-3 players from the state every year and add one from out of state you would have a darn nice team.

I remember when Cincinnati was good in hoops like 30 years ago

LA is #2 per capita for basketball.

I don't think that's true. But football is the main sport for most of the exceptional athletes. If some of those guys focused on basketball, they could be college basketball players.
Take TH for example. When you evaluate his full game, he really is not that skilled. But he was able to make an impact this season with effort and athleticism. He has more of a football build. You could find a lot of guys like that in Louisiana, with probably even more skill upside than him.

Louisiana sucks at a whole lot of things. Athletic talent isn’t on the list though.
