They will host likely correct?

If so when will that be? Next Friday?

Also, its the first 2 rounds right? Then Sweet 16 moves to another region right?

Yes, yes, yes…then to Portland or Albany, Look for Jackson State, who we played two years ago to be our #2 vs #15 game

they will host and LSU requested fri sun in order not to conflict with SEC Gymnastics in New Orleans
I don't know if the NCAA cares about that so still a chance it could be Sat Mon instead

Win that and it's on to either Portland or Albany for next round

Portland or Albany ?
So I assume Stanford will be the one seed out west and LSU two.

Interesting to see what side of bracket LSU, Iowa and South Carolina fall.

One forecast had us slated to meet Notre Dame in the Sweet Sixteen and Stanford in the Elite Eight. That’s doable. And in the Final Four, anything can happen.

Of course, depth will be a problem for us this postseason. And most everyone is just assuming that Last-Tear Poa will be one hundred percent ready to go for next week. That was a bad fall and concussion. It could be she has played her last basketball of the season.

I would welcome this. Of the #1 seeds, I feel as if Stanford is the most vulnerable.

I feel like LSU is a lock for Portland. S. Carolina will be at Albany since they will be the top overall seed and will stay geographically closest to home.

LSU is currently projected as #8 overall seed, but we will NOT stay there. There is 0.00% chance they will have a potential LSU-SC game in the regional final. The committee has the right to do a "Procedural bump" where they can move a team a spot or 2 to avoid intra-conference matchups.

The committee has said in the past they try to avoid same-league matchups in the Elite 8 "where possible". For the SEC, this is very easy since the top 2 teams were so much better than every one else in the league.

This is probably much harder for the Pac-12 and Big-10.

I am not as worried about it. It isn't like we are playing 3 games in 3 days. We are used to playing with 7 players and we will be coming off 11-12 days rest.

I would be shocked if Poa played the first weekend.

Sadly, this is possible. Concussions are a bitch and very unpredictable.

Because it is generally thought that SC is #1 overall seed and LSU is #8. But those people don't know how the committee works. As mentioned in another post, they try avoid Elite 8 conference matchups when possible, especially when those 2 teams were the two best teams in that league.

Ironically, this became a thing a while back when Baylor and Texas A&M were the top 2 teams in the Big-12 and were seeded 1-2 in the same region. Mulkey was pissed And I don't think the committee has done it again since then.

Me either. We basically played 8 players the entire NCAA Tournament last year and our starters were averaging 30-35 minutes a game.

LSU has requested Friday Sunday so as to not interfere with gymnastics.

Teams that are top 4 seeds and from same conference are not allowed to be put in same region. Earliest would play against SC is Final Four.

Folks need to go to lsusports.net and order the WBB regional tickets when they become available. ($35 or $30 for GA) Last year we barely sold 10K for both sessions (one ticket works for both days) which I thought was disappointing because we had had over 13K at our last 3 home games.

I ordered my 2 season ticket seats and am looking forward to it.

Correct--just realize that this isn't an "absolute"

quote:

• The committee will attempt to keep conference teams
from meeting until the regional final round.
• If the committee is unable to balance the bracket after
exhausting all possible options, it has the flexibility to permit two teams from the same conference to meet
each other after the first round.

But with LSU and South Carolina being the only 2 teams in the SEC that are worth a shite, the committee keeping them away from each other won't be an issue.

That caveat is there for in case there are like 6 teams from the same conference in the top 16 or some shite.

This is 100% an absolute lol, that's why it says first 4 teams selected. The committee will always have flexibility for the back end stuff, but with regards to the first four from a conference they will never be in same region (at least the ones in top 16)

I agree....I think they're going to do everything they can to have a USCe vs USCw final four / LSU v IOWA on the other side. There's no way they're not going to capitalize or lose money in the final four when WBB is pretty much at its peak as far as interest.
They will make sure they get CC fab base and money in the final four, Angel's fan base and money in the final four, they'll have a Goliath in USCe in the final four, and then they'll have the next in line JUJU in the final four and that west coast viewership and money.
