re: Is 13-17 enough?
Posted by GeorgeWest on 5/5/24 at 8:09 pm
Just beat NW State on Tuesday night. Then worry about Bama.
IMO, we are going to need 14 SEC wins (including in SEC Ty) to get into the NCAA Ty as a #3 seed....
re: What regional would you like to see LSU in?
Posted by GeorgeWest on 5/5/24 at 2:54 pm
We are not IN a regional anywhere as of today....
re: Sundays are a problem!!!
Posted by GeorgeWest on 5/5/24 at 2:53 pm
Another pitching collapse. We just do not have enough consistent pitching....
re: Look at the Aggies in the dugout. Spirits broken
Posted by GeorgeWest on 5/4/24 at 10:03 pm
Losing to us means very little to the Aggies. They are still a top 4 national seed. Winning means tons to us though....
re: Baseball scholarships for everyone on the team?
Posted by GeorgeWest on 5/4/24 at 5:42 pm
Title IX is not an NCAA rule. It is Federal law.
IMO, football's 85 schollies should NOT count in Title IX considerations since football revenue pays for all non-revenue sports (men and women) already....
re: Baseball scholarships for everyone on the team?
Posted by GeorgeWest on 5/4/24 at 5:25 pm
I'd bet that a majority of schools who play baseball would elect NOT to fund 30-40 baseball scholarships. All schools already lose money funding baseball at 11.75 schollies. Funding schollies is about the largest expense of a baseball program in most places....
re: Is Ashton Larson Really Batting .418 in SEC Play? As a Freshman?
Posted by GeorgeWest on 5/4/24 at 1:42 pm
Did Larson bat against Florida, Arkansas, or Tennessee? Seems like he has been starting just in more recent series. But he is a damn good ball player....
re: Texas A&M 4 @ LSU 6 Final
Posted by GeorgeWest on 5/3/24 at 9:50 pm
If the dumarse fan had NOT reached for the ball, its a Trav HR!...
re: How is Travinski out?
Posted by GeorgeWest on 5/3/24 at 9:47 pm
Fan reached over the fence maybe?...
re: Is Vitello a better recruiter and offensive coach than Jay
Posted by GeorgeWest on 5/3/24 at 1:01 am
Vitello took over a moribund baseball program and has turned them into an SEC contender. He also has built a fanbase from not much and baseball at UT is "on the map."
Jay Johnson has done more than Vitello as he has taken two different programs to the CWS champ series and won one NC....
re: I’m adjusting my expectations for this football season downward
Posted by GeorgeWest on 5/2/24 at 8:01 pm
It all depends on how we play in Las Vegas, IMO. Win in Vegas, by 10 points + and we are on our way. Lose our opener and we will struggle to get to 9-3....
re: The upcoming loss of the OU-Ok State rivalry reminds me of a once-classic SEC rivalry....
Posted by GeorgeWest on 5/1/24 at 7:17 pm
Hey, OP...Utah-BYU (Holy War) is already back on ad infinitim. Both schools are in the Big12 now....
re: I enjoyed watching LSU baseball this weekend
Posted by GeorgeWest on 4/29/24 at 6:17 pm
Guys, Jared Jones will be 21 soon and is draft eligible. Unless he has announced it, it is not a given that he will come back for 2025....
re: Do we have an argument to get in a regional…
Posted by GeorgeWest on 4/29/24 at 1:47 pm
I guess it is possible for us to win ONE versus the Aggies. But I do not think it is even possible for us to win 2 vs A&M.
IMO, we are more likely to end the regular season at 11-19 in the SEC....
re: Rally head
Posted by GeorgeWest on 4/26/24 at 10:07 pm
We are 6-13 in the SEC and in 13th place. Perhaps we can at least get to where we would even make the SEC Ty before claiming we've "turned the corner." I'll be at the game Saturday pulling for us to at least win this series....
re: Larson turned the season around
Posted by GeorgeWest on 4/26/24 at 9:39 pm
Our schedule "turned the season around."
IMO, if we win this weekend and beat the Ags 2/3, our season will be "turned around."...
re: So who makes the SEC tourney?
Posted by GeorgeWest on 4/26/24 at 9:37 pm
Auburn and either LSU, Mizzou, or Ole Miss will not make the SEC Ty....
re: LSU set to raise Gym ticket prices 23-29%, Baseball 9-39%
Posted by GeorgeWest on 4/26/24 at 6:25 pm
Any new arena is NOT going to have less than 13K capacity is my bet. We sell too many season tickets to Gymnastics and WBB to build a smaller arena....
re: LSU set to raise Gym ticket prices 23-29%, Baseball 9-39%
Posted by GeorgeWest on 4/26/24 at 11:52 am
My WBB season tickets went from $200 a seat to $250.00 a seat contribution included. Very reasonable, IMO....
re: So how do we feel about the WBB team going forward?
Posted by GeorgeWest on 4/25/24 at 8:10 pm
My WBB tickets went up $50 per ticket.
LSU has no choice but to play in the SEC-ACC Challenge just like last year when we hosted VA Tech in December. We will play this season on the road in the ACC. The SEC decides where who we play in that game....
