If Brock Bowers or Rome Odunze are still on the board at 14, do you take one of them?

Or do you take the best available OL? It’s a little nuts as we have the unquestionable worst OL in the NFL right now but I think I take Bowers definitely and most likely Odunze also. Odunze is the perfect Michael Thomas replacement and would be WR1 over Olave after a while. Bowers is just a freak at a position where guys like him are rare and completely change your offense. I would then have to either sacrifice my 1st next year to get back into the late 1st or very early 2nd to take an OL. Or maybe package 45 with a 2nd or 3rd next year to move up and take someone like Graham Barton or Jordan Morgan. Both those guys don’t have the name recognition or hype of some of the other guys (Joe Alt) but they would be day 1 solid starters. I just wouldn’t be able to pass up someone as special as both of those guys if they fell to 14.

I'd take Bowers, game changing TEs like him do so much and have such an impact on the game. Having a #1 WR and an elite TE is almost impossible to stop. Bowers ran a 4.48 in the 240s. Then do what you have to to get Jordan Morgan in the second. I'd be ecstatic with those 2

You have to unless somehow Daniels, Maye, MHJ, Nabors, or Williams falls to 14

Yes

There are a dozen OL in the top 50, the difference between the guy at 14 and the guy at 45 isn’t that much. You aren’t finding an Odunze or Bowers, nothing close

There are going to be top game changing players at 14 as had been said. If you can't or don't want to trade them for more picks its not the end of the world. Both the players you mention are worthy of a 1st round pick so it can't be wrong. Until next year. When the "I knew player X was going to blow up" crowd chimes in.

If Bowers is on the board and they don’t draft him, people deserve to be fired.

I’m going to say no.

Bowers is a luxury we can’t really afford at the moment. We need OL, DE and DTs now. Take a DE or OT with the first and second pick and if Theo Johnson or Ja'Tavion Sanders fall in the second, you can trade up for one of them. Although we’d still probably need to take a DT or CB depending on what happens with Lattimore.

Peat could end up resigning with the Saints you never know.

We would be absolutely stacked at TE if Bowers fell to 14

None of it works if we can’t keep Carr clean. OL no matter what imo.

You hired a brand new offensive staff for a reason. I'd go with whoever they think will be best for the organization not just in '25, but going forward. If that's a LT, fine. If it's Browers, that's fine too. I don't love Ozunze there, but if they do, fine.

You know they've been watching so much film on the guys we have and guys available. Maybe they like a different type of OL and Saldivari is who they want to win the LG position. Maybe they think they can turn Penning into something. Maybe they think they can get an OL at 45 that could fit their system as well as whoever's available at 14. You committed to the the entire offensive staff and gave them carte blanche to do what they need--give them the agency to make the call.

absolutely. i think we re-sign peat after all the dust settles.

peat + bowers > any ot we can draft.
peat + odunze > any ot we can draft.
peat + thomas > any ot we can draft.
peat + top DT > any ot we can draft.

also like the idea of trading up if necessary for jordan morgan in the second.

Depends on if there's a run on OL to the point we'd have only reaches left to choose from. If that's the case I'm going Bowers all day. Elite TEs can be a better commodity than elite WRs, as you can see with San Fran and Kansas City. Kansas City likely doesn't win this last Super Bowl without Kelce, or even get to it.

If Bowers is there, you take him. That is a position of need just as much as OL and the new hip drop rule seems to be beneficial to TEs since that’s how smaller DBs take them down.

Trade the pic to the jags and let them go get who they want at 14. Take there #17 and get one more pick in line the 3rd or 4th.
