was your High School a football, basketball or baseball school

None of the above..unless fights in the parking lot after school are considered a sport.

Barbe when we were only a football school. Cecchini arrived my Junior year if I remember correctly.

Basketball, my sophomore year we won our first district title then ran off like 16 in a row including a state championship.

When I was in High School in the 80's most would have considered Ponchatoula High as a baseball school. Now after having won state championships in girls basketball in 2015 and 2021. The boys have just won back to back Louisiana state championships in 2023 and 2024 some may say we are a basketball school. But this is South Louisiana, we all always be a football school.

growing up, way before i ever got there, CL used to be pretty good in football... but shite, after like 1997 or so, CL ain't did shite in damn near any sport, with girl's soccer being an exception... my friend Jude coached them, and had them state runner up about 3 years ago, i believe...

other than that, CL athletics has long been dismal...

Basketball when I was there.

Our football team was always good but our baseball team was a machine.

When i was in HS we had 2 guys (juniors when I was a senior) that were both ranked in the top 25 nationally for their class, one of which skipped college and went straight to the nba. The 3rd guy on the team went to Butler. Safe to say that at that particular time we were definitely a basketball school.
