I don’t care how young or inexperienced these guys are. There is no excuse for what we are watching this year with how well we have recruited. This is a total failure by the coaching staff. Yeski and Wanaka’s seats should be on fire

Someone who’s not a complete idiot like you posted a great breakdown of the failure of the 2022 recruiting class and why it’s heavily affected this team. Maybe you can refer to that before you start a thread next time

The dude is coming off a national title and is in his 3rd year. Not to mention we're 3 SEC series deep, we've played 3 ranked teams, two on the road and we loss.

Who do you want to replace him with? Give a specific name.

Go kick some rocks, tough start to the season but the team will find their identity soon enough.

Do you people get some sort of weird high by wanting coaches fired all of the time? We joke that our fan’s ultimate dream is to win a natty and then immediately fire the coach, but it’s not that far fetched for some of y’all.

You lost almost a whole lineups worth of talent and two of if not the most talented prospects in LSU history and you expected to be contenders again this year. Any realist expected some serious regression until we get young players experienced an add some more talent. We are rebuilding, pretty common sense

Jay looking like Coach O after 2019 NC but at least O had covid. The good thing about baseball is there are plenty of games to turn it around. Here's to hoping.

Our fans can be insufferable at times. I understand its a loud minority but still. Dude won a National Title in his second season and he doesn't even get 1 full season before this sky is falling approach.

Yes, since Jay has taken over we have recruiting and gotten players at the portal at a very high level. But, that last recruiting class from Paul which turned into Jay's first left a lot to be desired. But also Jay has proven to be very successful at developing players. But there has been two players who we were going to rely on this year that have regressed or just not developed. And some of that is on the player not just the coach.

But he literally just won the Title and you're already looking for reasons to place blame on him. There is obvious disappointment watching this team especially last night but the glaring issue is effort. And that falls on the players, because Jay if nothing else is a relentless worker.

Outside of Skenes our pitching has been below average with Johnson! It doesn’t matter who the PC is. He is to pitching what Miles was to Offense and Orgeron was to Defense!

I know I'm getting tired of watching other teams dance, have fun, wear gorilla mask, and have mojo and juice in their dugout.

While our dudes look like they are standing in a morgue. Our guys have no energy and barely go thru the motions. This team lacks enthusiasm which you need to win. That's on Jay to fix.

I started blaming Jay the day he was hired. I started crediting him then, also. Everything is the head coach's responsibility. I'll give him a break if he has bad injury luck, but that hasn't happened this year.

So far, the balance sheet tilts heavily in Jay's favor. He could finish this year last in the SEC and that would still be true.

If he has a bad year next season I'll start to question him.

When you are recruiting it’s east to see skill. It’s not as easy to see drive and character. Every player on out team was a stud on their high school / showcase teams who never dealt with adversity.

A college coach should not have to teach drive and character and motivation. But here we are

i think he can get a pass for a season, but i still believe this team will eventually turn it around.

also maybe this midweek loss will bring back sec wins. i'll trade non SEC losses for some SEC wins at this point.

florida has lost some horrible non SEC games all season long.

The coaching staff can recruit great and teach the X's and O's of the game and make sure the players are physically ready for the season, but at some point it takes the players to hold each other accountable and to execute on the field. Jay didn't commit 3 errors, walk too many batters, and only get 4 hits on Southern, the players did.

It’s almost like we lost not one but two of the greatest college baseball players ever, several solid veterans, and an MLB level assistant coach or something

Wild right?

It is his fault, not only because the HC is always accountable for the record, good or bad but because he’s made poor choices specifically which have led to or compounded the problems we’re having. He's a championship coach and a great recruiter but he hasn’t managed this group well.

Probably once he is a little further out from his last national championship. And considering his last natty was 9 months and 7 days ago, I’m pretty confident in saying that’s gonna be a while.

And it’s not just THAT he won it, it’s how he won it. He was masterful in his decision-making. He pushed all the right buttons at just the right time to go on an historic run. The man knows what he’s doing. You have no clue what you’re talking about.

When it starts to be the rule, then we can question. Right now it’s the exception.

Of course there is, and you already know it because you brought it up.

It’s not anyone’s fault, but your own that you choose to ignore that fact. You (along with several others here) think that just because we have LSU on our caps and TIGERS across the chest that we should steamroll everybody and that’s just not the case. We aren’t immune to growing pains. We have to deal with them just like everyone else.
