Surprised you guys aren’t celebrating Wade signing ULL transfer player yesterday. Wow. Y’all must have been really busy. Like I said. Showing your true colors. It ain’t purple and gold.

If CMM keeps getting commitments like this it looking more like a "make it" year.

don't care if we run out a church league team. The goal is to make the tournament. I am glad McMahon can get players with potential, but he deserves no more excuses for his "situation". Wade didn't get or need excuses at McNeese. It is put up or shut up time.

Dumbasses like yourself always have to relate it back to Wade. Nowhere in my response was he even mentioned.

The excuses stop now. It’s time to go out on the court and show improvement. It’s quite funny how bipolar the rant users are. I’ve never seen people go from loving to hating a person solely based on recency bias. With McMahon it’s like the majority of people love or hate him based on the most recent win, the most recent loss, or the most recent recruit. It’s ridiculous. I will say though that I’ve been extremely optimistic in regards to the program and MBB regulars on TD would second that in a heartbeat. I want nothing more than LSU above all else to succeed. I also really like and respect McMahon as a person but I also have to be a realist and prioritize the program. The excuses have to stop. The SEC is getting stronger. If McMahon doesn’t show improvement next season that’s a problem, and I’d be worried. However I DO still believe in him and I DO think we will improve.

VJ looks like he will be a great player, so the class is strong, but they’re just freshmen. We lost a lot of experience and our best player in Wright, and some good pieces in Hannibal, Baker, Dean, Cook and Wilkerson, so although the talent will be better next year, they’re currently too young to expect the results to be as good. If we get a good and experienced point guard (maybe just keeping Cook, but hopefully even better) and a good post player, then I will expect improvement and a tournament bid. However I think the talent he has brought in will get us to the tournament the year after next. Whether we make it next year will depend on what we get in the portal this year. We’re almost there. CMM almost has all the pieces he needs for next year, but if holds on to them, then he should definitely have the pieces for the future.

Who's Wilkerson? Maybe we should have played him. Add that to the list of excuses.

To the deniers. LSU was a couple of plays away from beating GA and FL on the road . And played the end of the season without it’s starting PG and leading scorer. I know you don’t want to accept that. It must hurt to think LSU might have won a few more games and made the tournament. Oh the horror of it all.

We are getting long and athletic at the guard spot. Hopefully they can play defense also.

great get but the excuses have to stop now. we have the players to be a good bb team

Yep. But still, it's a good not great team. They should be able to get better than .500 in SEC play next year though.

I'm cautiously optimistic, I would like to see a few more dominoes fall into place, though.

Need solid PG to help Givens grow. Need a couple of rebounding defensive bigs. We’ll see what the portal brings but at least he has momentum and talent to go get them.

I developed that attitude with LSU football during the Les Miles Era. And I was not a Miles hater, I just realized how fragile a college football season can be.

It has saved me a little extra heartache that comes with inflated expectations. I'm a pumper at my core so I needed to learn to pull back a little

I'm also cautiously optimistic. We potentially could be good in the post, especially with Collins that has potential to be a beast, but point guard is still a big concern. Maybe Cook returns and becomes the efficient player we need, but I will be much more optimistic if we get an efficient and experienced point guard through the portal.

You can be as down on McMahon as you want to be and you might end up being right but to try and argue we weren’t a few bounces away from possibly making the tournament this year is to ignore reality. If you take away the 2 buzzer beaters that went against us (Nicholls and Georgia) then you take away our worst loss and add another conference win which would give us a winning conference record. One more favorable bounce either against Florida or the game we gave away an 15 or 16 point lead late against Dayton and you are squarely on the bubble possibly in. That’s not even counting several other games that could have flipped on 1-2 difference plays. And yes while all of this is if’s and buts the point is that it we were fairly close this year.

Yes Optimistic. Who wouldn’t be. Great HS commits. Need some key portal gets. Then let’s see where are. Only losers are negative about 4star commits.

Agreed brother. Good not great. We should temper our expectations based on the SEC getting stronger. I think cautious optimism has defined a lot of MBB fans the past year or so

My whole point with “excuses have to stop now” was literally just that. I’m not expecting a final four run or anything spectacular like that. Just a solid season with on court improvement and showing that we are a good (not great) team. I think that is a reasonable expectation, it’s not asking much and it can be done without making a slew of excuses imo. My optimism allowed me to make these excuses in the past and I’m ready to quit coping and see progress on the court.
