For the people who are citizens of the United States. With birth certificates.

Are you really arguing that abortion bans are small government policies that respect the personal liberties of American citizens?

ETA: your silence is deafening.

Feminism and Jaffe memo are going as planned. It was never about "women's rights".

It's a State's Right issue. The SCOTUS correctly ruled that way.

Donald Trump has already clarified that statement.

When you make abortion based on life of mother, rape, and incest the approval is nearly a majority.

Yet the extreme far left says it's not far enough. But you have to dig deeper as to why. In it's inception, The Left said, and still believes today, that the handicapped and African-Americans were genetic defects that needed to be eradicated from society.

That being said, Abortion talk is merely a distraction to what is really on REAL Americans minds. The Economy.

What good is having abortion be legal if you can't even afford one let alone to feed your family?

Parents weren’t wanting to kill their children during the Depression era. Abortion and the willingness to kill babies isn’t about economics, but based on selfishness and a lack of morals.

I disagree. Obviously that sort of language adds an emotional element to the discussion, but that can be bypassed and the facts can be worked with.

The pro-life side of this issue argues that a child in the womb is both human (compared to a monkey or dolphin) and is alive (is actively growing and maturing until birth), and therefore abortion is the factual act of "killing our young", where "killing" refers to ending the life that exists, and "our young" refers to human offspring.

Sure, but why? If some Gump knocks up his sister, you don't go to their trailer and murder the rest of their children.

Could it be because most people don't actually believe abortion is murder?

Just War Theory, especially as defined by Aquinas touches on my perspective of this.

The common principles of just war are: having just cause, being a last resort, being declared by a proper authority, possessing right intention, having a reasonable chance of success, and the end being proportional to the means used.

There are a few of these that play into stopping abortion through what would essentially be vigilante justice, but primarily I would say "having a reasonable chance of success" is at the heart of it. Pro-lifers aren't going to kill abortion doctors for several good and moral reasons, and other methods to stop abortions by individuals are futile, which is why other tactics are being utilized to end abortion, mostly through the political process.

So yes, we do actually believe abortion is murder, but we tend to believe in better ways of addressing it.

same could be said for "pro choice" ... the child doesn't have much of a "choice"

Three things I rarely discuss are abortion, religion, and politics. Why? Because they are all opinions and there is no right/wrong definite answers. It’s just too bad that people just can’t respect someone’s opinion and move on.

Respectfully, I don't think you've truly considered the stakes of the matter here.

This isn't a discussion about the best flavor of bubble gum. There are real-world consequences with this issue that include the possibility that we are actively butchering the weakest of our society. There is a moral component that exists here on the level of chattel slavery and the genocide of the Holocaust, which is why this is such an important thing to discuss.

Yeah, that's nice.

I'm not speaking to stopping abortions. I'm speaking to the hypocritical position that abortion is murder, but it's OK if it's an incest baby.

To partially address your tangent...

Pro-lifers aren't going to kill abortion doctors for several good and moral reasons

You don't agree with Defense of Others?

You do you, but if I actually believed babies were being murdered by the millions, I'd do a lot more than vote for people who use the issue as a political football.

Honestly, no one believes abortion is murder under the idea that it stops a human heartbeat.

If a soldier kills someone, are they a murderer? Do women crying in church revealing they had an abortion treated like a murderer by the people around them?

No.

There is no way to force people to carry children they do not want. Wealthy people will always have access to child reduction, whether IVF or abortion.
