I still can’t believe how outraged some of you stay about tipping

I mean, it has gotten ridiculous.

It’s particularly problematic in situations like a drive thru. You pay before you get your stuff…it makes no sense unless your plan is to give worse service to people who don’t tip.

I refuse to tip for anything other than when I get waited on.

Most of these restaurants that ask for tips at anything other than the table are adding it as pure profit.

I always hit “no tip” for online orders, but I worry they spit in my food.

I did place my own order and process my own payment

thats like 5 years ago

now the only choices in our area restaurants is now 18%, 20%, or a 23% tip

i always used to tip 15%, but now that they demand more, i just give 10% tip

I’ve quit tipping for everything but table service at restaurants.

You should too.

I own multiple daiquiri drive-thru stores. If you order a Strawberry Daq from my store a bartender (working solo often) grabs Rum, Strawberry puree, Sweet & Sour mix, and a blender. She then hand pours it to the ounce based off a recipe, ice, daq base, blend, cup, cap, out the window. That’s one drink. What if the order has 3 drinks, therefore tripling the work?

Do you tip $0 on a $34 tab?

My girls all average from a $10-12/hr wage as well.

Just press “No Tip” and move on with your day.

It’s not wrong of them to try and beef up profits from gullible people.

It’s also not wrong for you to turn them down.

If you can get these two concepts through your brain, it’s not hard to tell them no and keep living life like normal.

And now, restaurants charges the customer 3% for the credit card fee! My habit was/is tip a dollar per every $6.

Why do I need to directly pay your employees? Aren't you the one who hired them?

Pay with cash. This stops that kind of request.

In truth it is not wholly the establishment's fault. These are pre-packaged programs they receive, lease, buy, or license from a vendor in order to process credit cards. These programs come pre-loaded with the tip option in the transaction sequence.

Now, truthfully, employers should direct their employees to skip past the tip area before presenting it to customers....so this is where I fault the establishment. But if these programs start providing options for transactional sequences without the tip option ......well, the world will indeed be a better place.

Solved the drive thru tip issue, no fast food for me. None. Solved the "spit in food" issue at the same time.

I refuse to tip if I get the food. It annoys me so much that I will stop going to places that even request a tip.
