Relying on an adversary for key supply chain items important for national security is a bigger negative than paying more

Making things ourselves is a positive.

We bootstrapped the Chinese economy into modernity, and they’ve returned the favor by replacing us as the worlds preeminent manufacturing power, and potentially technology power too.
