Theory: the attack on the Iranians in Syria was a set up to get Iran into a conflict that they can't win. Is regime change far away?
I've said since the news broke that Israel bombed the consulate building as a way to provoke Iran directly and bolster support that was fading.
ETA: I didn't expect for it to come out that our president greenlit the Iranian attack.

U.S. Defense Officials are reporting that upwards of 50% of the between 115-130 Iranian Medium-Range Ballistic Missiles that were launched by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) last night towards Israel either Failed to Launch or Crashed before reaching Israeli Airspace, with Officials stating because of this less than Half of the Detected Launches required to be Intercepted.

Theory only. The Persians did what they did because of the razing of Gaza. The general aside, as the proxies were looking at the Mother Ship and asking, 'when are you going to directly confront the Hebrew State'.
Persian credibility was on the line and they bit. The only question is; did they bite off too much. Lobbing the tonage at a sovereign State will not go unanswered - nor should it. Further, the region is weary of Persia's bs and are seen as the true regional destabilizing influence - see Gaza as exhibit A - they went after civilians [is out of bounds]

This tit for tat back and forth has been going on via proxy for decades.
This is a severe escalation but the ball is in israel's proverbial court...
What will they do?
This has the potential to become a death spiral. Pray for peace.

What? Europeans are indigenous. Chinese, Japanese, most of Asia…all indigenous.
It was a crazy thought and it appears that I was way off-course. The situation in the ME reminds me of the negotiations that we had with the native americans here in the US whereas that yes that they held modern weaponry but their forms of government and collective communities were far behind that of the rest of the world.
It is not 1:1 the same situation but there are some similarities.

Meanwhile, we probably okayed the Jews to bomb the consulate building, then we okayed the Iranians to launch an attack against the Jews in retaliation, now we are chest thumping in front of the UN about making sure the Iranians pay for what they did.
It is all bullshite.

I have every reason to believe Israel will return fire at their strategic sites. Israel got some interesting help last night from SA and Jordan....again, I believe the region is weary of Persia's manner of affairs --- they are literally the obstacle to opportunities

It very well may be - playing both sides against the middle - but that is an undesirable hand to play in this hornets nest. I believe the Gaza matter was the fuse and where it ends....I have no clue

Not that interesting if you’re aware of the Abraham Accords.
I’m no giant fan of Trump domestically but his foreign policy was more strategic than given credit for.

Am somewhat familiar. Was surprised they moved militarily [to protect their airspace - Iraq has been reduced to a Clown Show Punching Bag]

Neither Jordan or SA were involved in that.

I've seen a couple of posts saying Israel is going to retaliate tonight. Waiting to see it from some more trusted sources.

Shocking, big bad Iran is a paper tiger. Just like their pals Russia.
