I disagree. Lost had the issue of being overly popular and on ABC.
If you ever want to listen to it explained, listen to a YT with Damon Lindelof. He's both smart, but also explains it in relatable terms.
Lost hit the ground running in amazing fashion - one of the best I've ever seen - before any deep dive. ABC wanted an endless run. Seriously. Abrams and Lindelof were like, no this series needs an end. After some back and forth, ABC said, okay... 10 seasons.
So they were trying to fill seasons and episodes at times while they dealt with executives. Also, most storytelling is fluid. Even Ben Linus wasn't originally written to be a main antagonist. But due to Michael Emerson they adapted the construct. That said, Lost ending is fine by me with all they had to deal with and it's still a terrific show.

Thats probably it for me. Maybe Smallville, but its been a while since I've seen it, but I do remember it fondly. I've taken breaks on many shows, but I've watched both of those multiple times. Its funny how you forget certain things upon seeing it in a rewatch.

The "ending" isn't exactly what everyone wanted, but the characters got their exits and heartfelt.
That's another one like Lost where people complain about the ending and don't understand the fluidity of writing. Ronald D. Moore and writers had to change things as the show evolved and circumstances.
It's a lot different IMO than Dumb and Dumber just bailing on GoT.
