There’s a planet in the Alpha Centauri system called Proxima b that’s in the habitable zone. That’s our closest and best chance for a fresh planet

Say we aren’t alone in the universe. Wouldn’t it be a kick in the teeth if we found a habitable planet, found some way to get there, and then found out their version of humans already wrecked it?
All that work just to find a worse off earth.
