Eh. The SNL people can’t actually do their jobs and y more and not break character. It’s ruined a lot of skits over the years, yet people seem to act like it is some special skill they have.

Sucking at your job is now somehow lauded.

This seems to be the viral sketch going around, but it's mid.

Shane Gillis limu emu skit and Adam Driver "beep beep" skit are much better snl recent offerings.

Premise was great, but would have been much better without everyone but Keenan breaking character. You couldn’t even hear the Beavis and Butthead laugh toward the end.

quote:

The Matt Foley skit is one of the best ever and they broke character. This shite was funny

That's a little different IMO. Everyone knew Farley and Spade were buddies, and you could tell that Farley was doing his best to try and get Spade to break.

The same goes for Stefan on weekend update. The whole premise is that he's never seen the jokes before reading the cue cards, and the writers are trying to get him to break.

For this one, I'm not sure if Heidi Gardner knew what they looked like beforehand or not. Trying to get her to break (if that was what happened), does not work so well with this sketch. It would have been better if Gosling didn't break at all though, and kept a straight face, like Keenan.

Meh, just like most of their skits currently. I Think You Should Leave >>>>SNL for sketch comedy.

I loved that Gosling revisited the Papyrus-verse.

Papyrus 2

The original Papyrus

The wife and I were watching this because we were waiting for kids to leave our house post prom and there was nothing else on TV. The rest of the show was shockingly unfunny but this was hilarious.

I liked it when she turned around and saw him and cracked up. You could tell it was genuine.

Not a fan of breaking, but this was warranted and clearly she had not seen either of them before so the reaction was genuine.

ETA: apparently, she had seen then, which definitely detracts from the genuineness of her breaking and makes it seem Fallonesque.

Conway/Korman became a thing because each one was trying to get the other(s) to break (Burnett and Lawrence were either targets or collateral damage).

frick Jimmy Fallon.

Saw this and thought it was great. It seemed like they didn’t let Heidi see what they were going to look like because when she saw Butthead, she completely lost it.

ETA: just read a couple posts up that she had seen them.
