So I’m watching Why Files on YouTube and I thought of it.
Who (or what) will be here a looooong time from now.

I'm 100% certain. You can hold me to that.

I’ve always thought that humans would be extinct before we ever made any significant progress in space travel. There are just so many obstacles; distance, radiation protection, growing food/live stock, gravity etc

At the rate we are going, we will all be done within 30 years

I would say 75% no, 25% yes. AI is the biggest threat. Humans need to throttle down technology at a certain point.

I will be, for you see I am immortal!

At the rate that common sense and civility is eroding, I say no.

Probably not. And the earth will breathe a sigh of relief and go on about its business.

We don’t exist now, in the classical definition of the term.

I'm in the Malthusian camp that population will get back down to like a billion when the fossil fuels are gone. I honestly believe industrial civilization may only have 50 years left when you look at population growth and then add that to the end of cheap, plentiful energy. Good luck feeding 8 plus billion people without natural gas based fertilizers, oil based pesticides, and petroleum to run the equipment, water the crops, and get the food to your store.
As far as us nuking each other, this pod scared the crap out of me.

I love this channel.
I think some form of humanity exists in 100k years.

I find it hard to believe we don't nuke ourselves at some point.

I don't think that renders humans extinct.
We survived the return of Nibiru and the global destruction and population bottleneck it caused during the younger dryas.

That’s about 3 percent of the time modern homo sapien has been around. So yeah. We will. Some of us. Probably not my bloodline but those having 12 kids before the age of 25 will be.
