re: Young American Family w/Traditional Values Flees To Russia
Posted by TejasHorn on 4/30/24 at 5:38 pm
Getting thrown in the gulag for saying the wrong thing about Putin outweighs the whole family values thing, for me anyway....
re: AstraZeneca admits in court filings that its Covid vaccine can cause blood-clotting
Posted by TejasHorn on 4/29/24 at 12:20 pm
Vaccines cause inflammation, sort of by definition. It’s how they work.
Inflammation can cause clotting, heart disease is one example.
I only say this because it’s not unique to the Covid vaccines....
re: "Protestors" at UCLA had no bananas warning signs because one of them has a banana allergy

Man things are different than the 60s when protesters were just casually warned “not to take the green ones.”...

re: What’s the craziest story you’ve heard of a couple breaking up?
She started an account in his name with photos of him, and pretended to be him. Old girlfriends started sending messages. She accused the guy of trying to cheat on her and dumped him.
This is a reminder that there’s crazy, moody, etc.…
And then there’s next-level crazy....
re: Bic Mac dude turns 70 and downs his 34,000th Big Mac. “People said I’d be dead by now”
Posted by TejasHorn on 4/29/24 at 5:43 am
When I was a kid, I would dream of getting my drivers license so I could drive to get a Big Mac anytime I wanted. For the record I was rail thin.
Still love them, unashamedly, but it’s a 2x a year kind of thing since I’m no longer rail thin. Trying to wrap my head around 9 a day, which is an expe...
re: Charleston/Kiawah First Time

Kiawah… Play the ocean course if you golf at all.
We took a guided kayak tour through the marshes which was fun until the tide went out and we had to walk our kayaks back. The college chick guide apparently was pretty new. That was not as much fun....

A friend of a friend of mine has never been very lucky on the dating scene.
But he met a gal from Columbia online and it moved very fast. She visited and they got engaged. The ring was in the $20K neighborhood, he does well for himself.
She flew home with the ring and he never heard from her a...

re: Is RFK, Jr. a Democratic plant or not? Of course he is and they know it.

RFK definitely going after Trump’s base. Maybe not as a plant but that’s where he can build a foundation....
re: Every Four Years We Have “Summer Protests” about Something New, always the same types
Posted by TejasHorn on 4/28/24 at 9:37 am
It’s been going on since the 50s if not longer… and the 60s laughs at today’s protests.
College kids are idealistic. News at 11....
re: Covid Ruined a Shitload of People
Posted by TejasHorn on 4/28/24 at 9:25 am
Have no problem with people wearing masks.
But the irony is the whole reason we were doing it was to prevent the mask-wearer from spreading germs to other people. As far as being a preventative from catching something, it’s less effective. So really, you should thank the mask wearer....
re: WSJ Piece: Young Americans Are Getting Left Behind by Rising Home Prices, Higher Stocks
Posted by TejasHorn on 4/27/24 at 12:14 pm
In 5 to 10 years we’re going to see a housing surplus and price crash.
Boomers (who own the majority of real estate) will start departing the world in greater numbers, downsizing and into retirement homes....

It’s true that US Grant had a “Soviet style” of warfare, but to his credit he knew that was the fastest way to win....

re: No talk about the uproar over Noem shooting Fluffy the puppy?
Posted by TejasHorn on 4/27/24 at 6:32 am
People justifying her shooting a puppy in the face… the ultimate mental gymnastics.
Find the pup a new home if you’re too lazy to train it.
What a tone deaf psycho....

re: Trump’s lawyers enter crimes committed by other presidents that were not charged

His lawyer is arguing that everything is ok if it’s “an official act.”
So Biden can do whatever he wants if trump wins this case.
It’s a dangerous strategy, no?...

It’s Mississippi.
In the Deep South

re: Baton Rouge vs Austin
Posted by TejasHorn on 4/26/24 at 8:39 am
Austinites have been lamenting and missing “the old days” literally since the old days. Cranes have been a prominent part of the skyline since the 70s.
I don’t look at it as one city anymore. It’s made up of some really cool hoods and enclaves along with some areas that suck. It’s just a big city...
