In what way? We use it company wide globally and it’s fantastic. Minimal issues, no down time, quality calls and video meetings/recordings…

I’ve previous experience with Slack that was worse in most ways.

Teams’ help docs demonstrate how easy it is for a manager to access a direct report’s chats. I suspect my manager does this based on a couple of instances I have seen but I use it to my advantage by sending over-the-top, gung ho messages about how late I worked last night or on the weekend but it was really worth it! etc. to close team members.

Nah, teams doesn't suck. The people on teams suck. A former boss of mine use to require everyone to have it on and available at all times. Unless you were in a meeting or out of the office. If you showed idle, or unavailable, she would bring you into the office for a chat. She was a bitch. Glad I don't work for her anymore.
