You missed the original Game of the Century....
1967, UCLA ranked #1 and USC ranked #4, last game of the season.
USC would finish ranked #1 and win the national championship for 1967. This was the last year the Associated Press conducted its final poll prior to bowl games.
USC did beat the Big10 champ in the Rose Bowl as well.
