I told myself not to open this site after today’s game.

Yet here I am:

I get that everyone is frustrated about the season, including myself, but there is a certain joy that some of you get when this team fails that is just strange.

There are some very knowledgeable people on here when it comes to baseball, but the majority on here simply can’t have ever played the game at any level.

I enjoy college baseball probably more than any other sport. It’s probably not going to end well for LSU this season, but I’ve seen crazier things happen.

My advice to anyone who will take it is to enjoy the ride. In a bad season look for the small victories, such as young players developing for the future. Stop being so negative b/c you never know when the last season will be for you to enjoy.

I’m thankful that I’ve been around for all 7 championships, and hopefully a few more.

That may the case for some fans here. I think there is a faction of fans like myself that felt like this mountain was too difficult to climb, but was hopeful they would flip the switch and get hot. It just hasn't happened. Even though they have played better the last two weekends, this offense has never really had what I would call a really good weekend. To score 13 runs this weekend against the worst pitching staff in the conference is disappointing.

I think people forget how hard it is to sweep in the SEC. Last year with a generational roster we only had 2 series sweeps. Now we are expecting them to do more with less.

If we had won the games we should have won against Florida and Vandy people wouldn’t be melting as hard about todays game. Just how it goes sometimes.

Jay will get it turned around. He is a winner and we are lucky to have him. He knows the expectations and is more disappointed than any of us. We just gotta enjoy the games we have left and hope for the best. In the meantime hopefully we keep getting visions of the future like we are with Larson and Milam.

I agree. I've been watching LSU baseball since the sixties; there have always been good years and bad years. It's time to enjoy the wins, learn from the losses, and support those who stay and work to get better.

This is so true. It’s mostly posters that weren’t posting at the beginning of the season either. They only come out when the team struggles.

There was someone in the game thread yesterday arguing that we should be more aggressive at the plate and work the count.

Many of us drank the Kool Aid we were served before the season about how great the pitching would be. This was really emphasized by JJ. This has to be the biggest dissappointment to me.

Spoiled fans, Trolls, and assholes. That’s what you deal with on this site when things are down.
Frustration is part of being a fan, but this site can be insufferable at times, yet I keep coming back. That’s a me problem.

7 championships in my life time, I can handle a down season.

Will be rooting for the boys vs A&M, leggo!

This is a fallacy. One that some posters are quick to apply to anyone who expresses dissatisfaction. No doubt you can find some troll actually acting this way but it’s not a significant number. Show some examples.

Not opening any of these other threads talking negative. These ppl need to get a life and realize that as much as we all love LSU sports it is not life and death. We have been very fortunate to have seen all the championships in all sports such a short period of time. Other schools would kill to just one in any sport. Yeah we get frustrated but a bad year isn’t the end of the world

I am able to watch each game like an individual movie and still enjoy every one of them, even in a poor season.

Absolutely right. Championship hangovers are real, just look at Florida who is not lacking for talent either. This team has talented players however our pitching took way too long to come around for whatever reason.

The lack of timely hitting is probably the most surprising thing with this team. I expected the law of averages in baseball to even things out as the season went on but it really hasn’t. I’m still pulling for some upsets here to finish out the season.

Skip Bertman spoiled a certain segment of the fanbase. They expect a championship team every year. It's very difficult to put that team together on a year-to-year basis. Last year's team had the combination of extreme talent and seasoned veterans, like the 2019 football team.

If you can't enjoy Tiger baseball unless they win every game by 10-run rule, then you're not a real fan.
