I remember when car makers used to take some chances. Sure you end up with the occasional Aztek, but the style on the original Viper and then this thing was mind boggling as a teen.

They're basically worthless now. I think they do look good though

Damn, I had forgotten about those things. Probably similar vintage, a buddy of mine had the little hot rod Chevy truck. Kinda of a hybrid truck/car. Apparently way overpowered and would burn rubber on a regular takeoff.

A black guy in my hometown of Columbus ms had a purple one. Was very random but the guy always had a smile on his face driving around town in that thing

I always thought it was such a shame they were only ever offered with a V6 and automatic, they'd have been much cooler with a V8/manual option or even the Viper V10 wedged in.

Almost everytime I see one, which is rarely nowadays, it's either purple or yellow. Looks good in candy red - probably a custom paint job.

I’ve got a friend with a Prowler in Inca Gold.

He’s got the matching trailer for it too.

Not his, but this is the look-

I bought a Prowler at auction and quick flipped it a week later making a little money. Never even drove it. Bought a brand new SSR from a dealer going out of business for basically cost. It’d sat on the showroom for over a year. Sold it a couple weeks later to a guy in Ohio I think. This is back when I bought and sold cars for a side gig. I still do it some, but nothing like I use to.

It was a MOPAR parts-bin special....everything but the body was parts off other MOPARS. Radio was from a Jeep Wrangler, steering wheel and rack was from a Neon, engine was out of a Dodge intrepid, Gauge cluster from PT Cruiser, etc
