Pick up the pace a bit? Do you add a quick wave?

If not, I hate you.

Just like when someone holds the door open for me, I’ll pick up the pace a little bit as to not have them waiting

It always seem to be the same demographic that slows down as they walk across and never waves. They act like they are owed every bit of time it takes them to cross

I have noticed that most drivers today have zero idea that a no light crosswalk is a stop sign if pedestrians are present. You are taking your life into your hands walking across one if there isn't a light there.

i watch folks blaze through the crosswalk at the Rouses in P'ville without slowing down and a lot of times never looking up from their phones.

I also give them a nod to let them know what they did was appreciated.
I'll also wait before crossing if I see them coming I don't want to be the cause of slowing anyone up.

The old Broussard Hall athletic dorm crossing conundrum. Say 2 LSU basketball players are walking across, not only do they stare at you without expression as they cross, but they measurably slow their pace. Whereas as 50-year-old man might speed up and wave. It tells you a lot about who they are and how they view you..

I drip my pants to my ankles and proceed to teabag the hood of their car to establish dominance.

Always thank them. There’s not enough common courtesy in the world nowadays.

I feel obligated to at least power walk and give the " I'm hurrying" wave.

I do, because it is the polite thing to do.

But not everyone is polite. Some even seem to slow down and never acknowledge you -- almost like it is an entitlement.

I'm a little hobbled right now with recovering from ankle fusion surgery and not getting around nearly as fluidly as I normally would. If on my feet for a while I'm either in a walking boot or on crutches to get around.

I've had folks in cars stop for me to make my way into stores from the parking lots or let me cross a street and to show my appreciation for their thoughtfulness I'll give them a wave of appreciation or a quick "Thank You".
