re: How many people have gotten 15 years out of a car/truck?
Posted by Colonel Angus on 5/8/24 at 9:44 am
I've put 200K miles on two different vehicles, and I don't travel for work. That's just basic city commuting, hunting/fishing, and a few vacations I didn't fly....
re: Lingering questions following spring football from each Way-Too-Early Top 25 team
McKinley’s gonna eat this year
If McKinley has to play significant minutes this fall, it means we are in serious trouble on the interior DL. VERY few true freshmen play and play well at DL/OL in the SEC....
pretty much every city in the country is clearly racially segregated
This is far more true in the north than in the south...
re: When someone stops for you at a crosswalk do you…
Posted by Colonel Angus on 5/1/24 at 12:53 pm
I have noticed that most drivers today have zero idea that a no light crosswalk is a stop sign if pedestrians are present. You are taking your life into your hands walking across one if there isn't a light there....
re: Do you believe presidential polls?
Posted by Colonel Angus on 4/29/24 at 9:48 am
in the 2022 midterms, most of them had a huge Republican landslide coming that November. Well, that certainly didn't happen....

re: Fertility rates drop to record low in 2023

A lot of people under 30 aren't having near as much actual sex as people under 30 did back in the 60s-90s. Most HONEST people in this demo will admit this to you. Couple this with way more women working FT now and not wanting (or having the energy left over) to deal with a family and there you go.

re: What are some life lessons about women that you learned the hard way.?
Posted by Colonel Angus on 4/20/24 at 12:30 pm
If you tell one of them something in confidence or of a very personal nature (esp if it pertains to your relationship with her), go ahead and assume all the women in her closest circle will soon know every detail....
re: Of all the hot garbage appliances made today, the dishwasher has to be the worst
Posted by Colonel Angus on 4/17/24 at 10:03 pm
We have a very basic 1995 dishwasher with the pushbuttons just like all the apartments had back in the 90s. Very loud. But it cleans good and works. I will keep that thing until we die. I don't care how much maintenance I have to do on it in the future. ...
re: Does Your Wife Still Have The Same Qualities You First Fell In Love With?
Posted by Colonel Angus on 4/15/24 at 10:20 am
People don't change all that much. Yes, they have experiences over life that mold them somewhat and they mature somewhat (mainly in the ability to view things outside of themselves or have better self-introspection), but at their core, they are who they are by age 18ish.
What changes in a marria...

re: McMahon is our coach for the future
Posted by Colonel Angus on 3/20/24 at 1:12 pm
I don't know that he's the long term answer, but people on here thinking he's gonna be fired next spring are typical internet idiots. He's getting two more seasons minimum. I would wager three unless we win 12 games or less both seasons. ...
re: If you didn't have your wife (or don't have one) would you be happy being a loner?
Posted by Colonel Angus on 3/19/24 at 12:26 pm
My BIL is in his mid 40s and is just now getting married for the first time. I know another guy (older than me) who was exactly the same. Got married at 47. First marriage. Both wives are much younger. Not divorced....
re: Do you know anyone that actually got in trouble for skipping jury-duty summons?
Posted by Colonel Angus on 3/18/24 at 2:36 pm
Do you mean skipping the entire four month period or just not calling in one week or two? Big difference. I forgot to call in a couple of times but I checked in the rest of the time and showed up to the trial they called all of us for. I knew the defendant pretty well, tho so they let me go....
