The people coordinating it all certainly are.
The fact that the whole deal has really gone nowhere and has more and more people simply shaking their heads at it about how ridiculous it all is versus spawning any further chaos really, tells me a lot about how played out they are.

There is no doubt these folks are paid and very few are actual students of these universities.

No. The main provocateurs are, but most protestors are ignorant kids.
