I'm gonna bookmark this thread to check out some of hte repsonses.
One that instantly comes to mind for me is Blind Melon. Like most people all I'd ever heard from them was No Rain, which after abotu the 10000th time hearing it made me never want to hear blind melon again. But someone on here, in a thread about "what bands hae a sound different than their main hit" or somethign like that, pointed out that no rain isn't really what they "sound like" AT ALL. They only really have 2 albums so it was super easy to dive in and check them out and man I was blown away. Now I listen to them a lot and love them.
