Trade CJ for the other Wagner brother and a couple of second rounders. The trade clears around $24M of cap space and gives the Pels a mobile big with an outside game.
Orlando has lots of cap space to absorb CJ's contract plus the Magic needs shooting. CJ would be gotten without breaking the bank.

I don't think that's a great haul. I like Daniels, but I don't believe he's considered a great prospect at this point. I'm not even sure what position he is going to wind up, but he's not getting minutes on this team and can't get any better on the bench. He needs a change of scenery.

White is an emerging star. He is super cheap. He will make less than 24M over the next two seasons combined. Ingram will probably make triple that amount. It just seems like a no brainer to me. He would be perfect for us..

So DD needs a change of scenery after basically a year and half. White wasn’t anything special and was considered trade fodder for a few years until he broke out in year 5. And now he’s a star? Great logic there.

In a word, yes. That's mostly what I said.

But, White was emerging as a player, until the team acquired multiple players ahead of him and cut his minutes, plus he got hurt. It took him time to gain minutes and start to shine finally.

This is the thing. Players don't get better on the bench without a defined role. That's where Daniels is right now, he's buried. He needs to play. A change of scenery and a clear path to more minutes at a role fit to his talents is what he needs.

I don't think I said he's a star. But if I did, I meant that he has star potential. He's on the cusp.

At some point you have to roll the dice and take a swing on players exceeding the norm, breaking out. We saw in with Jones and Murphy to a lesser degree. I think White becomes a 20+ppg and a top 10 PG in the league.

He just averaged 22 minutes a game as a 20 year old.

Dyson's net rating two years ago was -7 and was +3 last season. He improved as a passer and as a rebounder.

Oh, and he's on path to be the best perimeter in the league -- even better than Herb.

Dyson has tons of value. If we're trading him along with BI, then we'd better be getting an all-star back. The only 1-for-1 trade that I'd consider with him would be for Kessler, because we obviously need center help.

We've had good luck overall with Vinson magic in teaching guys to shoot.

It took him 5 years to really put together the year he had. DD is already elite or close to it on one side and easily our 2nd best defender after about a year and 1/2 on the court. And he needs a change of scenery? Like I said great logic. I’d really like to see where he’s at if given 5 years. I’ve been saying on here to give him time. I think by year 4 there won’t be any talk of trading him.

You could always trade, I don’t know, maybe players that are already at their ceiling like CJ or Jose to give him more mins. White wasn’t some untouchable player. He was floated around in the rumor mill for years.

I think Herb is actually a better perimeter defender and will probably always be. That said, Dyson may turn into a better all-around defender because of his ability to switch onto quality bigs. Watching him switch onto Gobert and Jokic this season was a sight to behold.

I see him having Draymond Green potential without the insanity.

Is there any path to a trade with the Wizards? Would they even be remotely interested in a guy like BI?

I doubt they would move 2. Is Tyus Jones still under contract? Do they want to dump a contract like Kuzma? If Kuzma is considered a negative asset, could we give BI, (young player?), 21, future 1st of some kind for Avdija, Kuzma, 2?

I don't know. I don't know the Wiz well enough.

I would love a package centered around Avdija but there's no way in hell BI would agree to a long term extension with a shite show like Washington. And Washington won't give up assets without one.

I would do that but Thompson would have to be flipped somewhere else. He has no role on a team with Zion. The Thompson twins make Dyson look like Steph Curry

They might. But they’ll ask you to take Kuzma or Poole. Plus technically BI is expiring and Wiz can try to flip him later or at deadline for more assets. If Im Griff- thats what I tell teams.

If they are offering him his full max I bet he would

He could always demand a trade later, and if he puts up big points on a horrible team, and is under contract for 3-4 more years, they may be able to get better value for him than when they traded for him

I think you have to play the long game with Thompson and hope shooting or creation comes around . Just such a ridiculous athlete and competitor.

His ability defensively would help make Herb or Dyson expendable however if team wanted to use Herb for a bigger fish .

Im sorry man Im just tired of having defensive first guys and hoping their offense comes around. Why can’t we do it the other way and get offensive guys and hope their defense comes around?

Zero chance on getting #2. They are looking for another 1st round pick this year and will almost certainly trade Kuzma to get it. They want to go full on rebuild.

You can but not really in a trade with Detroit .

Herb in a trade helps you more in getting a better player in return than Thompson would.

Not advocating trading Herb you can’t get good returns without trading good players .

I like the Thompsons but the chance that they every become passable shooters is slim to none. Sure some bad shooters improve like Herb but the Thompson twins are outlier levels of bad. They were older prospects too, they're already 21. They both shot in the TEENS from 3. I would not bet on them becoming passable shooters.
