Two things...
City folk fish ponds.
With one exception I can think of, the triangular shaped head is a dead give away.
We no longer see chicken snakes, blue runners, or speckled kings around here. Yet, Ive had multiple large rattle snakes in the yard, my chair , and around the shop. Same goes for moccasins. When the water rises they get into the back pasture. The water falls, they are slow to leave because of all the mice.

Ain’t nothing city about where I grew up…
And that triangle head things is right up there with the juvenile snakes use all their venom…..
