We got the 16th for our estimate in Prairieville, as well. Now I’m extra grateful for the generator. I just need Cox to get their shite together since I WFH.

In ida someone said since it is a one way they can’t tie in anywhere else so they have to wait for parts?

Generator, you say? We are friends, right?

Looks like a tornado hit Henderson, LA. Lots of roofs missing, trees and powerlines down throughout the town and Pat's waterfront restaurant and motel with heavy damage.
There's a report of a fatality nearby in Cecilia as well.

Jefferson terrace substation is the worst because it is one way?
What does a substation that is one way mean. All substations have power goin into it and has power leaving it. I’m curious because I worked for Entergy for 32 years and have never heard that term before

I got all family in one room. It’s like radiator in here haha

every major outage area in BR has been forecasted as 5pm on 16th by entergy. prolly just a generic response and should be back on much sooner fingers crossed.

It pretty much takes an act of God to knock out power at my crib and we are going on 4 hours now. Had to break out the good stuff I got so impatient for power to come back on

3 days to get the power on after a bad storm? Come on
Posted on 5/13/24 at 10:14 pm to lsutigersFTW
Had a text saying 5/16 @5pm and then a text saying power should be restored. Guess what it isn’t.

I got that exact sequence of messages.
Their automated system has never once been remotely accurate and the outage map is also frequently incorrect

I personally know one of the Henderson people who lost a roof. Almost had them come here but they got an offer for a place that has power.

What do yall use for a rainfall totals app?
I use the NOAA weather station site.
noaa.gov
Zoom in on the map to the NOLA area and you will see every weather station they have. Click on the station and it will give you info. The closer in you zoom, the more stations you see.
ETA: I use it on a weather app called Wx. It is a lot easier. Free app, too.

About 99% sure a tornado crossed the road just in front of my truck. Ended up coming to a downed tree and had to sit there until a guy with a chain came and cleared a path. The sky turned green, I couldn’t turn around because I had the boat, just sitting there waiting to either get broadsided by a tornado or rear ended by a vehicle that couldn’t see through the rain was a terrible feeling
Yep. They'd have to bury the underwear I was wearing at the time. Glad you survuved.

Where at in Henderson? (Which side of the interstate?)

Thanks - my people are north, where you turn to head toward Cecilia.

I saw some tree damage on the north side of I-10 while surveying some of my property but the majority of the property damage that I observed is just south of the interstate inside the city limits. The debris wedged under the porch of the new city hall that was just shown on the 10 pm news interview of the mayor is the roof of the storage shed from the church across the street.
Also the fatality was confirmed by the sherriff to be someone just outside of the city limits. There may be damage north of the interstate as well, as the town annexed property on the north side of I-10 years ago to generate a tax stream from businesses located there and ticket revenue from I-10 speeders.
