Black Rock and Vanguard have been buying residential real estate like crazy since 2021. It’s all a part of Agenda 2030. You’ll own nothing and you’ll be happy.

I get these calls sometimes. The person who calls most frequently says his name is James from Dallas but sounds more like Sanjay from Mumbai.

Yes. Calls and texts. One is for my house the other common text is for a property in south Houston. No way I’d own a place in south Houston.

I’ve gone as high a 3 million

Yes, my new go to has been that I live in a van.

I somehow "won" a cemetery plot years ago somewhere in Cobb County Georgia. This used to be common. They'd "give" you a lot and then come around trying to upsell you on all manner of stupid shite. This was back in the day when, if the phone rang, you by damned answered it LOL. They called several times to set up a meeting at our house. I always had plans but they caught me at home one evening. A middle aged woman and a kid about 18 in training. They had a bunch of glossy brochures of the cemetery and a pretty good spiel. They asked me if I had any questions and I responded "yes - are there any spots that get good sun in the morning?" Their answer was "Oh yes sir, there are spots of all kinds...almost anything you want\." I responded "Thats great....I need a place to grow Tomatos and my yard just ain't good for it". They were struck wordless....probably the fist time in that woman's life she was thus inflicted....she was a salesman with a gift. They left pretty quick after the tomato conversation....never heard another word from them.

Effective but not as much as the time the local Baptist church sent their thugs to the door for the 4th Saturday in a row and I answered it butt naked....it took the rest of that summer for those divets to grow back in the yard....

The most used solicitation for wanting to purchase our home is usually via text message. Recently we got what appeared to be a handwritten note via mail. That was a first. I usually just trash or block the texts but maybe I’ll take the OT suggestion and ask for an exorbitant amount. So what’s the end game for these agents/brokers? Are they just fishing for owners desperate to sell and low balling them?

I know you’re joking but $1.5 doesn’t come close to many house values in true Old Metairie.

You still answer the phone when you don’t recognize the caller?

They are mostly real estate investment trusts.

The game is they bombard a target area with offers way below market and as mentioned all they need to do is find the handful of people drowning in credit card debt or just desperate for cash and they make a killing.

I get that same call, but for my parents house. Usually start at $1.5 million, and I told my parents if those people accept they are gonna have to move.

You will at least be able to afford putting them in a nice nursing home.

I get these calls as least once or twice a week. Sometimes the spam filter doesn’t catch them, but it’s always someone in India or something asking if we are interested in selling.

I usually just tell them to take me off their list.. not that I think the overseas call centers really care.

I assume these calls are backed by actual investors/firms who are just using telemarketing companies to generate leads? It’s always struck me as odd and scammy.

Dmitri said he really wanted to buy a family home. I spoke with him a few minutes, then told him if he was with one of those companies that offer 60% of the home's value, we were wasting time talking.

Dmitri said he would put together a legit offer and would get back to me. This was on April 1st. Dmitri must have gone to The Ukraine to dodge bullets.
