That AN was NOT a disaster was a miracle.
Then he went on to make a movie supposed to be an easy cheap film for him, “One From The Heart”, which bankrupted him and had him doing shite films for big money for years to recover from it.
Coppola being capable of making great films isn’t in question. The problem is that he hasn’t made many decent ones since the 70s.
