Looking for a nice but affordable Birthday brunch for about 8 people on a Saturday. I heard good things about Bearcat cafe but they don't take reservations. Any other places by the board for brunch in New Orleans?

Two of my favorite are Mr. B's Bistro and Orleans Grapevine although its been a few years since I been to either.

Mr B's is fine, but I wouldn't call these good suggestions.

Check Atchafalaya if you don't mind going uptown

Is it this Saturday? I went through Opentable and Resy and pickings were a bit slim.

Does it have to be "brunch food"? Because Bacchanal could be really fun if you're a wine drinking crowd

imma not really sure what your budget is but if the wife says let's do brunch this weekend it's going to be Paladar 511 or Elizabeth's

Bearcat is mid, btw.

Not sure where the hype comes from. But people wait in line at ruby slipper, too.

Bearcat = legit good
Ruby Slipper = Another Broken Egg with a different haircut

Cafe Degas has good brunch and has a cool vibe.

Atchafalaya is good

Commander’s Palace is my favorite, but I wouldn’t want to pick up the tab for eight people there.

It’s ok

Not worth waiting in line for like I see people doing. That is mind blowing

Not a knock on you Fun Bunch, but I’m pretty sure every breakfast focused place has this exact scenario. I drive by any breakfast and am absolutely confused why people are waiting in line for eggs.

Why would this be a knock on me?

Agreed. I love Bearcat but not willing to wait more than 5 or 10 minutes for it.

OP, don’t pigeon hole yourself to brunch. Most brunch menus are overrated.

I see the same thing BO

Molly’s rise & shine
Bearcat
Ruby slipper
Red dog diner

But people really hype up Bearcat like none other

Honestly there isn’t much in terms of anything that’s worth waiting in those types of waits for.
