for you youngsters -lol
that have never seen the '79 game LSU-USC
you owe it to yourself to see if there is video..

you will not be able to truly duplicate the energy...but you will enjoy.

I have been a season ticket holder since '69 - graduated in '70..
This is the only game I can recall where it seemed as if EVERYONE stood almost the ENTIRE game yelling

total exhaustion at game's end.

Not a super game, but I certainly enjoyed
LSU/Ole Miss this year. What was it four lead changes in the fourth?

Best game I've ever seen based on the level each team played on.

79 So Cal I was 15 sitting in the North End Zone with my Dad and Little Brother...That game stands out more than any other. The whole game was like something out of a dream. Every soul in the stadium was spent at the end of that game. When it was over, it was obvious to everyone there that they had seen something special.

Still feel the same way. Burned in my brain forever and ever. Ronnie Lott's comments in the 2009 article certainly confirm how unforgettable it was.

USC 79 is like LSU's "07 New England Patriots" game. Best team ever? But they lost the Super Bowl.

Best LSU game ever? But we lost.

Kind of tainted.

It's hard to explain it unless you were there.

The other greatest game I think of isn't even football - I'd go with the 1996 baseball championship.

Never been so proud to be a Tiger as on that night.

The fact that a "regular season" LOSS is mentioned so much is testimony itself to the greatness of the moment.

1. '07 UF - It was the most intense game I can remember. Best drive ever by an LSU offense with Hester closing it out.
2. '07 Va Tech game was the best I ever saw our team at all phases perform. kicked the shite out of them and they ended up a top 10 team.
3. 1979 SC game - Was too bad we lost.

Comment - Attended the Earthquake game and must say it was VERY disappointing as far as excitement except the end of the game. most people will tell you it was down right boring because the D's were so tough.

These may not be the "greatest ever" game, but 05 Peach Bowl on- and off-field demolition of Miami, that ended their era and cemented our legacy as more than a 1 hit wonder in 03, that was one of the most satisfying games I've ever witnessed. Going in, there were so many U fans talking trash.

I know this thread is mostly football related, but the greatest LSU game I have ever personally witnessed was the LSU vs Loyola Maramount basketball game in the early 90's. Absolutely unbelievable!!

And...wasn't that the first game EVER on "TigerVision?" We ordered it.

After the game...Bear Bryant beat his wife! He asked, "what time is it?" And she said, "Twenty to Ten." (That was the joke I remember)

I don't think TigerVision was around yet, and I don't think you could "order it" at home. I watched the live broadcast at the Superdome, and I've read here on TD that in Baton Rouge it was at the Prince Murat and the PMAC.
