Is this program ever going to get back to where it was? Seems like they have just really fallen off the face of college basketball. Lose by 30 to UCONN in November, 4-3 on the season. Just doesn't seem like it is a program making a comeback. How long does Van Chancellor get? Know it's just womens BB but we had it going pretty could for a while.

All because the administration couldn't overlook Pokey's love of the ladies.

If Les Miles was banging one of his players, he'd get fired too.

it's crappy to say, but putting any more money into most womens sports than necessary is a pretty bad investment

Don't know all the facts about that but if it was with a player while the player was a student athlete then I can see the dismissal as what had to be done. If it occurred after the player had left LSU then not sure it should be cause for the termination. But it doesn't excuse making a bad hire at a time when the program could have gone after some very successful current womens college coaches at that time. The program seems to have gotten worse every year that Van Chancellor has been here.

Should have never let her go. LSU Women are terrible now. They look like frogs out there when they shoot.

Everyone knows that the only good female bball players like the girls. That's why we had one a coach. Kept a solid base coming in.

Yet, arguably the most successful women's college basketball coach is a man.

With this reasoning, they should get zilch.

I'm not saying that wouldn't probably be a good thing, but for better or worse, it ain't reality.

Van killed the program when he was hired. A failure all his NCAA career. Out of touch old fart who prefers golf

The Pokey situation was several years old and had been settled thru LSU until a certain former player and staff member got jealous of Pokey's success and started trouble. Good old Carla. Then the old wimmenzes coaching network kicked and Judy hired her old pal Van

Pokey had to go. That kind of behavior is not acceptable in any line of business.

Seimone was the main reason for the success of the team, and Fowles was another. Players as good as Fowles are rare, and players like Seimone come around maybe once a generation, and we got 'em both at basically the same time.

The falloff has not been fun to watch, but it should have been expected.

Went to the Final Four his first year. Had Fowles been able to secure that final rebound against Tennessee, LSU probably would have won the National Title.

I don't know if LSU would be willing to pay it.
