I agree here. I bought a Charbroil 4 burner bottem line grill 3 years ago. Paid $100 and it still doing fine. Need to replace the burners this summer, but I have cooked a ton of stuff in those 3 years.

So, after everyones great input, I decided on repairing the old grill. I just couldn't find a new one that felt well made, was the correct size, and was under 200.

My old grill is an old PatioKitchen by Charboil that I got when my wifes uncle was throwing it out 8 yrs ago after using and abusing it for 5 years. I tore it down, repainted the metal and restained the wood and put in a new burner and push spark along with new rocks back in 2003. Even though I got the side burner working I never really used it and it made the side shelf uneven and useless.

Here is the old grill before this round or repair:

This time I replace the burner with a stainless steel burner, replaced the push start sparker, added a piece of extruded metal to support the new bricks, re stained the wood, removed the side burner and replaced with a large cutting board, added grill tool hooks, repainted the metal, added a more substantial shelf underneath to hold 2 propane bottles instead of the previous 1, and added a LED light. I am going to order a new grill grate too shortly. Total cost right at 65 dollars and about 2 hours of work. The new grate will be about 25 when I order it.

I think it turned out well:

Sweet. I just did not have the energy to repair mine. A purchase in the $200 range will be made by me Friday at either Lowes or Academy.

I like that light. Might have to pick one up for myself. The light on my back porch doesn't quite to it.
