Almost every night for the past month or two, driving down I-12 eastbound, just past the split you'll find anywhere from one to five BRPD cars backed into a spot against the center wall
They are protecting and serving that center wall.....

I have always heard those vehicles are often DEA as that split is a huge drug corridor

We got busted leaving Peppy's circa 1985 at that spot... but that was State Police.

Looks like someone is butt hurt about something. It could be one of many things and I am pretty sure I am right about it. Don't be so butt hurt.

Uhh, he wanted to know why the police presence was constant in that location.
5 LEO units sitting on the side of the interstate are waging the war on drugs? If Pablo runs by with a couple of hundred kilos, how would they know?
How about if Scooter and Muffy drive by on their way to a friend's house to buy a quarter ounce? The intent is definitely strong in those two. They should be tazed at a minimum. But how do the 5 LEO's know to pull them over so they can receive their tazing?

u sound like an e-bad arse - pull up and ask them - sure they will be happy to tell you - go ahead - be a hero.
Be a hero? Why would asking a police officer what they are doing be such a horrible idea?

I bet you think every drug bust or raid happened by luck or accident.

Let me guess, smuggling hot LSU sorority chicks from campus to Unchduifstan under the cover of night to be used as sex slaves, right?
You've watched the Taken movies too many times.
Why is it hard to believe that area is big for human trafficking? I-10 as a whole in the south is huge for moving around victims
quote:
The federal government considered the Houston area to be one of the biggest hubs in the country for human trafficking. In fact, the 1-10 corridor has been labeled as the number one trafficking route in the country.

One of Thursday's panelists, Emily Morrow-Chenevert, said the Interstate 10 and Interstate 12 corridor makes Baton Rouge a hub for sex trafficking. New Orleans is among the top 20 cities in America with the most sex trafficking, and Houston and Memphis are other big destinations. Baton Rouge, then, serves as a convenient stop between those places.

Seeing the movie Taken too many times has nothing to do with it

Nope. I think they happen by hard work in a combined effort by many people.
There are also the ones where the LEO claims he smelled weed when he didn't as a means to offer himself the right to search the vehicle. It does happen.
The first scenario usually garners larger quantities and bigger fish. The second generates a lot of revenue for the always hungry system.

If you only knew the police work that goes down at the 10/12 split, you would be fricking thankful that there was a constant police presence there.

Because I'm a shite head.

I worked with a human trafficing unit for a state attorneys office. It's a lot more common than you think. There are human trafficking vehicles crossing that bridge everyday.
We would set up backpage ads and have the LEOs swarm in when some idiot responded

Nice cop math.
