Chicken registered 8/2003.

Definitely one of TD's Beta testers.

This way of thinking needs to go away. It's what we heard all of last season about Wisconsin and look how that turned out.

Since we always get a cancelled game and one less win every year we should do the same

BTW, maybe we need a Hawaii road trip so we can add a game to our schedule...since it seems like we always lose out on a game due to weather (Thanks florida)

I know a lot of folks laugh at BYU as a "premier" OOC game next season, but they are a good football team.

Tanner Mangum will be the starting QB and he looked good for a freshman last year, this year Taysom Hill was healthy so they went back to him starting as a senior. Kind of an odd situation for them. BYU lost 4 games this year by a total of 8 points.

If I was Alleva I would pull out of that game and schedule a home game in Tiger Stadium!

BYU will have more fans in Reliant on Sept 2 than Wisconsin had back in 2014. BYU has "subway alums" (LDS church members) all over Metro Houston.

I want Alleva fired so don't get me wrong here and there is a lot of things Alleva can be blamed for, but WTF does BYU scheduling a game prior to the LSU game next year have to do with Alleva?????

you get a downvote sir!

I just read that. Why is there an exception to the rule if you play at Hawaii?

It has been that way for years. Teams who travel to Hawaii for football get to schedule an extra game. I think the big reason behind this is to offset travel expenses. Traveling to Hawaii is very expensive for a football team and playing an extra home game can help recoup the losses, and then some.

Go read the thread about Kim Mulkey for AD. There is a poster in that thread who would blame this on Skip Bertman...

I don't mind playing BYU, but it just seems weird to play them in a neutral site game. I would much rather a home and home.

Interesting. The 13th game rule isn't new, but allowing the extra game to be played on "Week 0" was proposed in August 2015 and adopted in April 2016. The LSU-BYU matchup was announced in January 2015, and it is billed as the AdvoCare Texas Kickoff season opener.

The exception has been out there for years. Basically, it's meant to help Hawaii get nonconference home games.

Allows LSU to get a 2017 scouting report on BYU... can't say the same for BYU!

And despite LSU losing a home game the retard LSU AD will still not budge on at least making it a home game.

Worst AD in LSU history

Correct. I remember a Tom Brady-led Michigan team played out there the week after the Ohio State game one year.

Cal and Hawaii played a "week 0" game in Australia to kick off this season.
