ABC orders drama with no agenda, nope, none at all: Americans as refugees

Do you think they'll show the refugees accurately?
- Raping uncovered women en masse
- Demanding handouts
- Trashing the streets
- demanding host area conform to their culture
I'm sure they'll take a balanced approach.

ABC kicked off pilot season with two dramas ordered Thursday, including one that depicted an American refugee crisis with a big twist.
The Crossing tells the story of refugees from a war-torn country who start showing up to seek asylum in an American town. Only the refugees are from America in the future — 250 years from now — when the country is in chaos. Characters include a local sheriff with a past, a federal agent, and a mother in search of her missing refugee daughter in what’s described as “an allegory with a surprising conspiracy at the center.”

the political angle aside, I like dystopian stuff so it's not a terrible concept
Of course, it's ABC, so even if not political, it'll be shitty

I genuinely feel sorry for people that get worked up over shite like this. You act like this show is being shown on 1 of the 2 state run channels you have access to.

— 250 years from now —
Surprised H'wood is making that number "4 years from now".

What if the Americans are fleeing Muslim occupied America?

They are American refugees, not Middle Eastern muslims.

Are they all going to be brown with no discernible trace of ethnicity or race?

I miss the innocence of sitcoms and dramas where the show has no agenda at all and simply aims to be entertaining and/or funny. Actually, any form of entertainment at all. Music, film, tv, etc.
It used to be a very small percentage of nutcases were all about politics and the majority was about entertaining. It's the inverse of that now. It's why I tend to stick with the classics and what I grew up watching and listening to.
