if you get fresh farm eggs and you don't wash them, you don't have to refrigerate them

You aren't supposed to refrigerate fresh eggs.

Seriously, what do you think people did with their eggs before refrigerators were invented? You can safely keep an egg on the counter in your kitchen for a couple weeks, but once you put them in the fridge, you have to keep them in the fridge. It's actually more healthy for you to keep fresh eggs out of the fridge.

If it's a fresh egg you really don't need to refrigerate them. In a small henhouse environment, you can gather the eggs before they can become contaminated by prolonged contact to chicken shite.
A store bought egg has gone through some sort of cleaning process that removes a layer of the egg that prevents the growth of bacteria naturally. So if an egg has been washed, bacteria can seep in; so you have to refrigerate them.

North America is the only place that refrigerates eggs.

Fact:
The United States is one of the only countries to refrigerate eggs. Mostly due to how the eggs are farmed and then rinsed of protective coatings.
In Europe no one refrigerates eggs.
Our production of eggs here is disgusting by their standards. So we have to refrigerate. BUT if you have farm fresh eggs, a simple rinse of water and then they are good two weeks unrefrigerated.
ETA : Fact - The Ot is better versed in Oology than expected.

What everyone is saying about it being okay with fresh farm eggs is true.
We get farm eggs sometimes from my mom who has a couple of laying hens, but we also buy eggs at the store. As a result, when my mom gives us some fresh eggs, we just throw them in the styrofoam egg case with the others in the fridge. It doesn't hurt them.

Eggs are trashy.

Our fresh eggs sit in a basket on the counter until we are ready to eat them - nothing tastes better than fresh free range eggs

A friend of mine that used to live on a boat said they would keep them un-refrigerated, but flip them every few days to lengthen the shelf life. Apparently flipping them keeps the membrane moist which delays spoilage.
I wondered if that was truth or bullshite.

Only Americans refrigerate eggs. Has to do with how we process them before delivery to grocery stores. True story.

It's an American thing. In Costa Rica the eggs are on an end cap of the aisles in the supermarkets.

Maybe they are shamans and are using them to get out your anger
